does the remote wire need to connect to the factory wiring harness? looking at the adapter that came it has a blue remote wire that matches with the remote wire coming from the pioneer harness, and wasnt sure. just wondering if i have to run a split so both the amp and factory harness are connected to the remote wire coming out of the radio

 

depends on the car - to be safe, connect all three together.

 

in some cases the factory will have this wire for turning on a factory amplifier, or raising a power antenna. as stated depends on the car, it may dead end after the plug or in the harness.
