Amp ground problems

i just bought an amp and everytime i try to connect it either the fuse blows or when i just connected the power to the battery, and when i pressed the ground to the ground on the battery it started sparking and burnt the wires, anyone know what this could be and if its fixable how or for how much?

+1 to bad amp... something is wrong.. go back to where you bought it at..

the amplifier is presenting zero or very little impedence to the battery meaning that one or more components in the amp are shorted! other words its fried. may be repairable but usually not worth it.
