The sun seemed to overpower most shots. It soaked up everything and made for overexposure. Cool spot

I love my D40.
What lens do you have?

Nice shots. Sometimes it's fun to give up on taking serious, "set up" shots and just go out on the town snapping pictures. I really ought to do that one of these days. Looks like you had a good time.
I think you might benefit from looking at the histogram periodically. Like someone said these shots are just a tad overexposed here and there. If you watch the histogram you can usually dial in some negative EV to bring things back where they should be. Alternatively you can spot meter the brightest part of your scene.
Good shots overall, I like the ones you took of the other photographer. I think we're all guilty of spending too much time behind the camera and not enough in front of it.

i never used a camera other than a disposable one in my life. but yes, the pics do look really bright. thanks for lookin and chris- thanks for the tips :)

chris- thanks for the tips :)
No problem. If you're going to use the camera again, post here or PM one of the regulars here if you want some tips. Reading the histogram is SO easy, and it helps big time... but people get SO intimidated by it before anyone explains it.
Anyway, there's a garbage/waste facility in the background of one of your shots. Can you tell me about where it's located?

Cool. What are you using for a film camera? It must be old school because the strap looks old school.

Civics will fit in the park thats there too for water side shots. :D

I wasn't so much looking for the location of your shoot, but of the waste facility in the background. Feel free to delete that info, I don't want to be giving away your spot.
Also, my girlfriend has a Nikon F that's so old school. I need to load up some film one day...
