Hey guys, i just wanted to let everyone know my experence with the Dupli-Color Paint Shop. I know there has been some talk about it and people are split about due to it being a laqour (sp?) paint and there hasn't been to many people to actually try it. I painted my zx6r race bike with it and it came out pretty good. I am not saying it is better than other types of paint, but it is a cheap solution to painting a vehicle. Also since my bike will only be out in the sun for a few weeks a year it is great for my situation. here is my write up on it. Hope this helps...

Hey guys this is kind of an update to my last post. I have finished the paint on my zx6r race bike. After looking around at different paints I figured i would try the Dupli Color paint shop line. I have read a lot of different things about this and wanted to see for my self if it was crap or not. Well to tell you the truth it is not bad for the cost. I am not saying it is better than other paint, but for my need it is great. Also it is very easy, there is no mixing, reducing, hardening. Nothing. Just pour and spray. Also i made a paint booth again. This time a little bit bigger and it is great, easy to set up and easy to clean up. It only cost about $15 for the plastic and $2 for a roll of masking tape. Also the paint cost about $60 for 1 black, 1 red, and 1 can of clear. The total process took about 2 days form star to finish. Here is how it went.

Here is the supplies:

And here is the making of the paint booth:

After the first color (black) was laid i refitted the parts on the bike to line up the two-tone paint job:

After laying the clear and letting it dry i ripped down the paint both for easy clean up:

That is true, they said it will bring out the clear coat a lot, but since it is just a track bike it is not worth the money or time to me. But it does go to show that this paint is a cheap fix for a paint job. (it is better than spray paint and cheaper)

i should have said in the first post it is a person thing why "gardian" is spelled like that. I know it is mis-spelled. The guy that made the stencil (sp?) keep asking me if i was sure i want it that way. That is they way i wanted it.

(it is better than spray paint and cheaper)+1, looks like it turbs out to llay down like a single stage, but like you said with a nice wetsand and buff it could be nice. even if it does turn out like single stage, for $20 bucks you cant complain lol. good work, rep.

I've got a Ultimate Detailing Maching D/A polisher if you want to try to wetsand in the hood.

EDIT: do you have a rotary polisher? I've got a lot of tools and stuff in my garage, hit me up when you start your next project!

Will do. I don't have a polisher, but just about every other tool. LOL. I will hit you up for sure.
