I found a tore up 89 daytona turbo for sale at a dealer in oldsmar the interior isnt all that bad and it has those fancy electric bucket seats.. its got like 80000 miles on it but the motor sounds terrible the sales guy said he thinks the cam is shot it sounds like rocks in a blender until you rev it up a little then it doesnt sound as bad.
Think its worth $400 or should I look for a lighter car to start with? :)

Daytonas are good but heavy. A friend of mine has one weighing 2960 and ran a 13.6 @ 103+ This was with a stock engine. The car would pull dead even with an ss camaro on the street. If you want light a turbo L body is vbest (charger omni)

Umm Well if you need parts or a parts car. I have a 85 Laser Turbo Im trying to get rid of. Couldnt get it running so dont know if it will start or not. I would say this is better for parts. There is water in the oil so more than likely a blown head gasket. It is a 5-speed. electronic dash that funky electronic seat with the air pump for the drivers lumbar. LMK if you need anything. It has 4 lug pizza wheels. Nice body parts however.

Right now its more Db than ET I want to quite the exhaust down b ut I kinda like the attention it gets being that loud :) I have a new top for it just gotta find a GOOD body shop to do the paint and then Im getting the top put on. Then its on to the interior. I would like to do the body work my self but I want it to look nice when its done :) What did you drive that night? We gotta hook up next sat maybe. Need a tranny then we can bring out my wifes 73 Duster :) Hope to see ya this weekend

Nice car GLHSKEN. Sure you dont need any extra parts from that Laser Just had to ask. Do you bring it out to N. Tampa? All us Mopar types should meet up. Im kinda curious as to what 4SFED is doing to his Omni. Damn I gotta get the Omni registerd SOON. Im going through Turbo withdrawals. However the Newport is also very fun. It can be good to have a # of different cars. Hmm. might use the Newport to tow the Omni down to Desoto one day. Again Nice car actually both of them rock. C ya
