and these were some firsts. this one guy went crazy with his IR pictures, which is ok, but it took away from the pictures, there was no true color. but whatever. and then one of the first place overall's, the one of the sunset, it was like kid and it was blurry and had terrible lens flare and idk it made me mad ha.

The tree infrared one is awesome, but the remainder of the firsts weren't better than yours IMO.

Your strongest ones are the beach walkway, the footprints in the sand, the waterfall thing (what is that btw?) and the sailboat. I think you have a better eye for cropping/zooming than I do. I always wanna get as much in a shot as I can...

Congratulations again. Was there a portrait category or was it just general? Some of those engagement pics would've been great.

it was all pretty much general. the only "categories" they had were type of picture i.e. digital, B&W, photoshopped...etc

the lake dam was from this youth conference i go to (almost) every year in NC. its pretty infamous with people who go there. probably has had a MILLION pictures taken of it. But they also picked mine to use it around the College and retreat there. Called Montreat, in Black Mtn., NC. The only lighting was the 2 street lights behind the trees, and a little light from behind me from the general store, 30 sec's, iso 200, kit lens.

Very nice. I didnt even realize it was a long exposure, I think the yellow light really makes the shot!

What equipment did you use to shoot, then get them printed and matted? If you don't mind me asking that is.

Matting can be tricky. I know.:crack:

But very nice work. I have been staying away from contests due to I hate how Pinellas county does their rules.
