Feb 16th. everything i call ends up having a problem. if there is a nice park in central orlando so we can bbq that would be amazing. i was going to post up final plans in the toyo section on here once its ready to go but i cant find a place

well we were thinking of a more central location like sonics in orlando where we had the first toyota night but isnt febuary 16 a little early? maybe make it febuary 23rd? give people that extra week to get it off... set ground rules... etc?

also we might want to have it earlier in the day to solve the lighting issue. i mean the only 2 problems we had were the convention which was unavoidable and no light to see engines. jking did a great job with the whole thing, finding this location, plenty of parking... decent food.. props yet again for his genius.

hey guys, yea i think we are actually moveing this to the 23rd but this isnt the same meet as you all had at sonics, this one is the yearly celica/mr2/whoever else meet that we always setup on newcelica. So i dont want to take anything away from jkings meet as this one is seperate :D

oh i got no problem with that. i just did not want to confuse anyone :D. i am calling back pointe orlando today. before when we were planning to have it on the 16th there was some big convention taking up all the parking so i'll see how this new weekend will work. i'll keep you posted :)

update

ok not completely all parks are closed right now due to holiday so noone there i can speak to but i think i found the absolute ideal location. It is a recrational park, has decent parking, a pavilion and if i can request it, there is an end where the parking is a large "O" with the pavilion there and its at the end of the line so wouldnt have other people driving and would be an awsome way to line up the cars.

So i am going to call them tomarrow and see if we can reserve that specific spot and if they say i can reserve 1 of the spots but not specific then i'll get my ass up early to get over there http://www.newcelica.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif

Google maps: 5165 Metrowest Blvd, orlando, fl and its directly to the right of that dot.

i am going to call that park and the turkey Lake park which is near it to see which would be more ideal and parking etc. Only issue with this one is the neighboorhood isnt as good. turkey lake has better location, shade however it costs $4 to park, not a massive deal. i'll call tomarrow and see what i can find out for sure so hopefully tomarrow i'll have set plans.

another newcelica.org member is setting up the food whenever i get a location. for this we will more likely then not be BBQing so we will all prob chip in for that. i'll post on here a link to the newcelica thread when its up hopefully tomarrow

better (was temped to say gooder) neighborhood would be better. don't want our cars broken into for tape deck players :)

are there grills in either park? bbq's are great at the last mr2 meet i was the only one smart enough to bring hot dogs..

lol i will make sure there are grills but a few celi members offered to bring some if not. another guy is going to make sure all food plans are good to go and we will figure out how much everyone will need to chip in to cover but i doubt it will be much. just will depend on final head count

OK here is the deal.....
Eagle Nest: $0 to Park, Pavilion rental will be about $60 or so, Grill next to pavilion, cars next to both. place is 400 acres however the area to the north and east are not so good of neighborhoods. (MY MAP IS WRONG WHERE I SAID SOUTH AND WEST ;) ) however there is a large ammount of park between parking and surrounding ghetto :D I still think this would be more ideal but its up to you all. For this I have to fax over an application today to get the actual price for rental and rent it asap if we want it.
Turkey Lake: $4 to park, Pavilion rental is $125, Grill is not next to cars or pavilion, Pavilion is not next to the cars either. both grill and pavillion require going down a walking path to specific grill location. With the shade of the parking we prob dont need pavilion but there are no reservations for parking/grills someone will just need to get there early.
Both are fairly close to eachother both with different pro's and cons. So please voice your opinion asap so i can let eagle nest know

lol yea i am pretty set now on eagle nest. just seems like a better spot for the meet. and if the rental fee is 60-70, divide by 20-30 people, maybe 40 people isnt going to be bad at all. i will fax the lady their required informaiton sheet for the rental and once its confirmed i'll make the new thread. it will include the plans for the bbq :D

also yea i have the stock tire iron in the trunk and a more beastly one behind my seat ;) with this many people i am not concerned at all

ok the 1st lady i talked to and faxed the stuff to this morning now told me i had to send it to someone else so i just faxed it to the new guy. i'll let you know when i get a deffinite. We deffinitly have time but i'd like to get this going as soon as possible.
