Friday Night High School Challenge

Starting February 8th 2008, we will starting our Friday Night High School Challenge at Lakeland Motorsports Park

This 8 week series will allow our High School Students to come out and race against others from their schools as well as other schools in the area.

We will have trophies for 2 places every week. Students must show a school id on entry, and claim a school that they will earn points for during the season.

Points will be awarded, and at the end of the season, the school with the most points will be the winner.

Well our reply to that is that parents cars should not be on I-4, hwy 33, or any of the other highways doing exactly that same thing. As far as your call being slow ZoNe.. it does not matter. There will be a bracket class as well as a heads up class. So if you know your car, you can be quite competitive in Bracket class... As long as you have a valid school ID come and see us!! We would love to have you here.

We are super excited about it. I think that it is going to go over well. Last night we had 76 cars here @ Lakeland for test and tune, and I handed out 10-15 information packets about the high school challenge. Most of those were from Lake Region High so you all should get busy and get your friends involved. I will be posting the packets soon on a temporary website dedicated to the high school challenge but I will let you know when that happens. In the mean time, if you would like them mailed or faxed to you, please let me know.

I wish that I could let the tachers race, but ... you know.. LOL I think that is probably that is a race that we might have later in the year. If you want though you could be the "coach" for your school. Just let me know if you would nbe interested in that and I will get you some info to hand out. Not all of the schools will have coaches this year but it would be a way for you to be involved.

We are getting everything ready and should be announcing more soon, but we have picked up ALOT of awesome prizes for our winners!!!
We are hoping that all of you will come out and participate... all of the prizes will be explained on February 8th 2008 - OPENING NIGHT
Gates will open @ 5pm and racing will begin @ 6pm.

I dont think that you all have anything to worry about car count cause I have a feeling you are going to have ALOT of competition.
Entry fee will be $20.00 (car and driver) $10.00 to spectate.

Yes we will have both classes. Yes you will have a choice... it is completly up to you which one you want to run in.

This event is not a ONE day event... this is an 8 week season. I think that some of you are thinking it is a one time event!!! I just went and ordered 32 Trophies!!!! I am going to try to post a pic of the grand champion trophy!!

We have about 2 weeks till we start!! Make sure that we get the word out and bring your friends!!!!

We just got confirmation that the Lake Gibson ROTC will be doing the opening nights cerimonies.. If you think that your schools ROTC would like to take a week and do the opening cerimonies please let me know.

I am to pick up the trophies in the next few days so that will be exciting!!!
I will be delivering flyers to all of the schools in the next few days so check with you A/V club to see if they are coming out to cover the event and if they need more info please contact me with the information so that I might contact them.. There are a lot of schools out there and I want to get the word out the best that I can!!!

Well we have one day left until the start of the high school challenge-- we are very excited about this program.. I will be picking up the trophies today!! I also recieved the certificate for the grand champion from K&N Filters!! WoW!!

Lets come out and show everyone that this program with worth having -- and have some fun in the process!!!

Remember guys... we open our gates @ 5pm... test and tune will begin @ 6pm and eliminations will begin @ about 8:30 - 9:00.
If you need test and tune it will be available for you...

We did not have as good of a turn out as we would have liked, but we will be back at it on Friday!!! I think that the state fair opening day really hit us hard!!! LOL We all had a lot of fun though!!! We are excited to get this under way. We really need all of you to come out and participate!!!

Make sure that you watch Channel 8 on THursday morning @ 10am. We are supposed to be featured on there!!! How exciting!!!

This is not for cars that are built to race!! As long as you know what your car will do from point A to point B - you can be competitive!!!
