ok is it possible to drift with out an lsd??????

my boy is tellin me its not drifting its sliding the car around
plz.. isnt drifting slideing the car around???

he owns an evo

this is what he says

First off get your car running and back on the road before you start telling me how I need to do things.

Secondly Joe, we have had this conversation numerous times. You can NOT drift in your 240 without an LSD. In an open differential car it is NOT called drifting it's called sliding the car around. There is a distinct difference. If it weren't for my Evo having an LSD in the rear stock I would not be able to drift like that.

its all about the lsd, he thinks

granted if i putt on my shitty ass tires and make a few turns im able to drift yes its stock SOHC butt it has balls to it

do i really need an lsd to say i can drift my car around??

just shedding some light on this matter

No need for a LSD. But it helps.

You really want to shut him up... get a welded and tell him to STFU

^^its not the amount of time, you have to rep dif members of TR, not just the same ones over and over.

to OP... was it really worth it to post this? it doesn't matter what its called as long as you enjoy doing it/get better at it. but yes, you can drift w/ out the limited slip, drifting is technique not equipment

just get an lsd and tell him to stfu cause he owns a mitsubishi. its not hard to drift with an open diff, if your turning or entering a left turn or bank, but when trying to do it turning or entering a right turn, its going to be alot harder because that one wheel is just going to want to spin like crazy, especially if your having body roll and on stock struts, shocks. in the rain, both sides is hella fun though.

mike is right on with his post if the ass end is kick'n you are ah drift'n!!!

there are guy's out there in i think D1 with front wheel drive's drifting...and in my OP I think a AWD drifting is cheating LOL there's no challenge in it

if the axle's where removed he would also need to do the center diff lock aswell a dsm tranny dosnt like to just have the axle's pulled out it will lunch it's self with the quickness LOL I spent year's working on those damn

driving a fwd car and pulling the ebrake isnt drifting, cause when it comes down to it and your in need to clutch kick, you cant. therefore thats not drifting.

i remember hearing somewhere that its a bad idea to drift in a fwd car(duhh) but gettin the car into a controled slide is a drift right?? the diffrence is when you need to mantain the slide but you can drift in a fwd car

Well you should tell your friend to go drift his evo... And i give him ten mins before he wrecks it into a poll... And awd is not ment to drift and its not as simple as all of you think it really is... The car handles completely different then a rwd car..

I hate when people say you cant drift with an open diff..-_-
Also, LEARN to drift open, then weld or go vlsd. But welded's more fun but eats tires/scares grandmas at the grocery store on daily driving.
