A man needed hospital surgery from both doctors and firefighters after getting a metal ring trapped on the end of his penis. Doctors tried to remove the large piece of metal, which appeared to be cut off from the end of a pipe, but the hospital's ring cutter equipment could not saw through the tough material.
The hospital called on the aid of two local firefighters, who were able to use a mini handgrinder, normally used to cut through pad locks, to slice through the metal. They had to place a thin sheet of metal around the penis underneath the ring to protect the skin. They then cut through the metal, which took around 20 minutes
