I want 2 new lenses!!!

ok so heres the deal. if i sell my 55-200 here soon, i'm pretty sure im going to pick up a Nikkor 50mm f1.8 (awesome little, cheap lens for portraits and low/available light situations).

then i think (once again, im getting bipolar over this decision) i'm going to steer away from getting suspension for my car and talk to the parents and see if they'll help/get me the 70-300mm VR lens (or something equivalent in that range)

anyone suggest anything close to the 70-300VR that would be good for small telephoto shots and possibly a lens with macro...and of course if it has VR thats a BIG plus...

im so bipolar about all this...its not even funny

it'll be cheaper for me to get 2 lenses and i think i'll be happier with them than the suspension. i'm really just thinking in the long run now.

and hell, these lenses could easily become investments and then i'll actually get returns with them!!! cant do that with a car!!! :D

yeah but i have my 10-20, and 18-55 still.

so even if i sold my 18-55 with my 55-200 i still would have to come up with more money than i want to to replace them...

this is going to work out easier, the money i get from the 55-200 with go to the 50mm 1.8

then i will be ordering the 70-300VR at the same time/shortly after. probably by the end of this week/early next week.

Is your car lowered already? If it is just get the lenses, if not get cheaper springs and still get the lenses. To me lenses are way more useful than lowered car. Just my .02

no its not...yes i could just get springs which is still an option but its a lot of work to get just springs put on when it would be easier and more beneficial to do the same amount of work and just replace the whole assembly with a full coilover. but anyways, the lenses will be MUCH more useful at this point in time in my life, and could turn into an investment...the car, is by FAR, not an investment haha

and i decided to go with lenses over suspension when i realized it'd be a lot cheaper to go that route and i'd have A LOT more uses for the lenses than the suspension. i can still live vicariously thru some of my friends and their cars haha and i'll get the joy out of taking awesome pics of them for them ha
