superpocketbike question.....
ok so i have a 110cc just to play on and i had too get to some bolts so i took off the gear shift on the left by my foot and i pulled it off a toothed rod that comes out of the transmission. so when i put it back on now it wont come out of neutral and i tried ajusting it but i cant get it too work. stupid question but can anyone help me out or do u know an easy way too fix this? and also has any one heard of heating up a piace of weldable steel till its soft and wraping it around a broken peice of frame instead of pulling off gas tanks and welding? someone said too do it lol
i dunno what the deal is with ur shifter, can you grab the shaft with vise grips and rotate it to change gears? About the metal thing, how are you gonna heat with a torch a piece of metal till its hot enough to wrap around another tube but NOT be able to put a welder to it? u might have to show pics of this thing, but cmon, removing the gas tank CANT take more than 15 minutes.
like ^said take vise grips and see if the gears will change with that... if so it just sounds like your not putting it back on right.

lol the metal was not my idea but he would heat it away from the bike and then go and wrap it around. i have no idea if that would work lol but ok ill try the vise grips and see if it shifts but if it does not then wut should i do?
oh and if it does shift with the vise grips then how am i not putting it on right? cuz i stuck it on once and it shifted so i screwed in the screw that holds it tight and after i screwed that in is stopped working again.
haha, i dunno man, its a very simple device the screw being in it should do anything but clamp it securely to the shaft, mimicing exactly what the vise grips do. Is there a clearance issue? like is the shifter hitting the footpegs or something else before its getting enough rotation to change the gear?
about the metal, okay, so somehow you get the piece red hot then carry it to the bike, metal just doesnt turn to rubber when its hot, itll require some beating and all that to bend it. then once its bent how is that forming any structural integrity to the frame unless you physically make that piece of metal a part of the frame and the only way to do that is to weld it on like its a collar. if you can get a pic of where its broken most likely you may be able to weld it with the tank on the bike, the molten metal isnt going to burn through a piece of sheet metal that the gas tank is made of unless you are damn close to it or welding directly on it. but if you have enough room to think about wrapping a piece of metal around the frame you have enough room to throw a weld on the frame most likely.

ya the metal, not my idea lol i didnt think it would work. do you know someone close too me that can weld it? and it a piece of frame right by the left foot peg and there is room to weld away from the tank its by the swing arm.
and there is clearance 4 it to shift i dont knoe y it did that when i clamped it down with the screw
