Badrap / TR Autocross day ?!?!?!?!

Hello everyone. Im sorta new here. Probably the only ones here that have ever met me are the admins. I moved from the Tampa Bay area about 9 months ago.

I was thinking how it would be cool if we got both of our clubs together for an Autocross Day. I have seen your posts and I think this would be a blast. Personally I have only done the 1/4 mile. This is something I would LOVE to try out.

Maybe we can organize something here. I know I can get a few people from Badrap to join in.

Let me know if this can happen. I live in Tequesta Fl. (East coast) now. Although I come over quite frequently.

I am all for it I have already shown more than a few high powered v8s (a Pantera and a SS Impala of death) my Focus taillights in an autocross event. That would be a kick ass event.

I suggest we take advantage of the Porsche Club Auto-X in March (macdill). The track should be a long fast http://www.tamparacing.com/ubb/biggrin.gif track. It would also allow us to set up our own classes as we wouldnt actually get points (just times) like in SCCA.

Maybe we could have our own awards:
Fastest of the day
Fastest FWD
Fastest RWD

More cones?? Im down I habve a front end that needs some finishing off from the last one j/k. If any of you need some info on AutoXing go here AutoX Info (http://www.autocross.nismo.org/) . I am no Mario Andredi(sp) but the tips help.

I talked with the guy that did a good deal putting together the BMW meet. From what I got it shouldnt be too hard to get one going. I wouldnt mind doing it either. I dont know if someone is already in charge of this kind of stuff so let me know if I am steping on any toes. If its no prob then Ill need a couple people to help out in getting things in order.

Before we all go getting excited Ebsuku had a good point; we need to find a place to hold the event. Sure we could crash the Sunriders or BMW club events but that just seems rude. If were going to have a lot of people joining in someone needs to call MacDill or St. Pete JCC (or any place) and find out what itll take to allow us to set up a course. Then theres also the matter of having a trip device to time the runs.

But other than that hell ya Im in for some autox fun.

The reason we cant set up our own Auto-X: We have no Liability insurance. That is why we have to crash somebody elses Auto-X.

And you said we will have alot of people showing up. Dont hold your breath. Only about 35-40% of the people who say they are going to show actually do.

I say we crash somebody elses Auto-X. It makes it easier on us.

- Tequesta is right near Jupiter. I used to live in Tampa... got a new job. Althouth I actually grew up in Jupiter.. it goes like this
