Hey this was my first time out at an autocross event and I have to say it was the most fucking fun I have ever had in my car! I look at driving my car and the whole import racing scene in a whole different way now. Ive never had a bigger rush driving my car it was awsome.

To my dissapointment though only 3 hondas participated...my self a new gen prelude and a ITR.

Not very many TR.com people showed up to my suprise but I did finally meet some TR people face to face.

I wish I had listened to Jon though about the folding chairs umbrellas and cooler. I was tired of standing hot as shit and really thirsty.

All in all it was a great experience i learned a lot about my cars capabilities.

no more quote:a265a8ff5fs not working keep putting a 1 in. Here is the post without the quote:a265a8ff5f it was in response to knowing the limits of your car;

Heheh yeah you did should have finished in reverse on that last run someone told me you can finish in reverse sometimes its the quickest way. For everyone else watch out for the cones when going 40 they do cause some good damage car as I found out like a tard. I figure I rather damage something there than doing something dumb downtown and damageing it. For everyone with RWD woo baby gotta love da drifting!!!
Were you able to get my last run Mike? I droped out of second twice on that last drift around the corner it would have been sweet. Sleep time have to make up for NONE!!

It was good to see you out there you did pretty well; car sounds/looks great by the way. There would have been a 4rth Honda out there if I didnt bust my neck up last Friday but oh well.

Just so everyone knows March 11th is another BMW autocross at MacDill and March 17th is a Miata autocross at St. Pete JCC.

yeah my third run was real shitty I just let it all out and decided to take a risk and haul ass on the last set of cones and ended up doing a 180. I thought about finishing in reverse but I didnt want to run the timing devices over I dont happen to have a few gs to spare.http://www.tamparacing.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Im still waitin on that RWD swap for my CRX.http://www.tamparacing.com/ubb/smilies/disgust.gif I had major understeer problems.

Hey Bill thanks i apprietiate the compliment and I hope to see more TR people on March 11th.

yeah i thought you did really well for your first time out.. i think we all had ablast..

Tip: Next time do what i do.. while staging on that little road.. crank your A/C on full blast and hold your helmet over the vents untill youre almost the next car in line... Really helps out with the heat

testing 123.....

Im thinking about setting up the stang for
autocross rather than drag racing...

question is how often do they have these events in the tampa area?

I was reading that they have an event every 11th day of the month at McDill. Never the same club twice so organization varies.

It really depends on how far you like to travel.

Tampa-
SCCA
SunRiders Miata Club
BMW Club
Porsche Club

Orlando-
Martin Marietta Racers
SCCA
And at least 1 or 2 more

Ft Myers-
Gulcoast Autocrossers (1 mile long course).

You could actually find an Auto-X event just about 3 out of 4 weekends a month within a 125 mile radius.
