Well I met up with Taylor and Craig at the Sunriders Autocross over at St. Pete JCC today and let me just say...Im hooked. I didnt have the balls to run since it was my first time going out but Im for damned sure gonna run at the next event. Lot of great people pizza Impala boats smokin tires and crazy Ford Focuses tearin up the course. Hopefully at the next event we can get a bigger group together because this is some fun shit.

i went up there in my rex(didnt run) it was cool. that impala was nuts. who was the focus driver cause you where good almost a good as the neon driver with knee pads(yes i did say knee pads at a miata meet hehe) i didnt get any pizza whats up with that.

Everyone said I was tearin shit up with the lil blue Minivan. My fastest time of the day beat Taylors (59.88 to his 59.89 hahahaaaa) Miata time so I am happy with the car. I will have the pics developed. Here is a pic of the Impala...the only one I got with the dead batteries in my digi.

YEAH.. MY RUNS AND THE IMPALAS RUN WILL LIVE ON... bill you missed my other two runs didnt you? i got it to spin around.. hahaha those tires are made out of concrete! craig understood what it was to drive on tires with actual air pressure... yeah it was great though... both craig and i did amazingly well apparently by what all the experts said.. we both schooled a 74 panterra by 12 seconds... god i wish i couldve hooked up on the track.. my car was WAY to tail happy... crx89si.. i was the silver miata spinning all over the place.. caught sideways on every turn... eventually on purpose...

man that 74 pantera handled like a school bus. i wasnt to impressed with the 2.5rs with road race slicks on he was missing turns. i dont know if i saw you run taylor i got there right when craigs class was running about 2:45. anyway maybe next time ill run if it didnt start so damn early i would run.

Johns version of whatever is running is 10x better than what I started with. Geez. All of your cars have coilovers and a center of gravity that is below the roofline. I just run what I brung and managed to do damn good. The true test of autocrossing prowess is better speed in the same car. Still the Focus had too much power for that surface with the stock tires. Id love to get a set of real tires and go at it again.

I noticed that the yuppie sister didnt say anything to me. Hmmmm. It sucks to have a brilliant car with awesome handeling abilities awesome power and a high pricetag only to have your ass handed to you by a minivan. HAhaaaaa. Oh well.

I was faster than both ITRs and the Civic Si. I was not faster than the 2nd gen Integra though. Its fun to beat faster and more expensive cars.

That guy happens to be a SCCA national autocross champion! The knee pads keep your legs from shifting in high g corners. But I guess if your not hitting high gs you wouldnt understand. LOL

Everyones times would have been much lower if it wasnt so damn cold out couldnt get the tires to heat up at all!

BTW the 2.5RS with the slicks had two different drivers the owner usually posts some of the fastest times of the day he actually placed second for the season in his SCCA class (GS) behind a BMW325. The 2nd driver well it was his very first event I guess he did get a little lost a couple of times! http://www.tamparacing.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I had a blast regardless of conditions. Not a single cone fell under my driving period (grazed yes fall no). I posted no killer times but I did the best I could with the vehicle I had and fared better than I thought I would.

Whats up guys! Actually I drive the other 2.5RS that was there (silver wheels/Goodyear F1s) the one with the gold wheels/BFG Slicks is a good friend of mine.

I doubt Ill make it out to MacDill for the Porsche Club auto-x but I will definitly be at the SCCA MacDill events (if they get some scheaduled this year!).

I actually found this site after seeing the sticker on a Honda Civic (black w/wheels I think) down here in Riverview. I drop in a few times each week! http://www.tamparacing.com/ubb/smile.gif

If anyone is interested there is an SCCA ProSolo auto-x event coming up in Ft. Myers on Feb. 17th & 18th. ProSolo is a little different than a normal auto-x; It features two car races a drag race start (with a tree and everything) that leads into two side-by-side identical courses first one to the end wins! Its a national event so many of the Auto-x big dogs will be there Im going to see how long I can last...it double elimination 2 losses and your done for the weekend!
