Just out of curiousity(sp?) what would be an average e.t for a quick/fast civic? Just skopin out the competition. Thanks. Mark

In Tampa(on the street) the fastest Hondas youll run into is low 12s high 11sbut theirs only like three of those. One mid 12s one but I dont think he drives that one around anymore. As for 13s Hondas(Im guessing) but Id say their are maybe 8 on the street and a ton in the 14s range. Best place to find us is on North Dale Mabry on Friday Saturday night. Also most fast Hondas will look stock but there lowered and have an exhaust. If you see a Civic cx or vx with exhaust it might be a fast one.

Around orlando area we have like 3 to 4 12 second all motor guys. 12 second sc/nos coupe and my 13.0 sec all motor. There are probably a few others. If it has funny lights or a body kit it usually isnt fast. No interior and stock wheels means it probably has go.

Im gonna echo the other guys. More times than not if it has a monster tach tons of stickers or anyone of of a thousand other flashy modifications its likely a 16 second automatic worthless grocery getter. Likewise if you see a lowered Civic hatch or CRX pretty plain jane maybe an exhaust tip or clear corners it could be a 13 second all motor car. There arent many faster cars than that because seems like after everybody reaches low 12s they take their cars off the road and go full race.

Thanks. Just wondering. I actually ran across a white crx one night on waters ave(bfore my new gears were in). He sounded pretty exotic. Maybe a rotary motor w/ a msd delay in it. Anyway I let him go first and reeled in him when I just shifted into 3rd. He must have been a high 13sec car. Pretty impressive. I was shocked. Funny that u mentioned it his front tires were really jammed into the wheel well. Then when he hit it the car look normal(parallel to ground). I gave the peace sign and turned on to Dale Mabry. But I do admit at desoto I did get my ass handed to me by another crx(12.66) completed gutted. But thats another story! http://www.tamparacing.com/ubb/wink.gif

There cant be any 11seconda hondas out on the street. FWD cars cant hook up. I would nock at least a half of a second off there best time at the track if you are going to race them on the street unless there are driving around with slicks.

Heck it might be even be more than a half second. Most of the more powerful cars cant run worth a crap without slicks on the track. Simply too much wheelspin. I wont even try to run 4SFED on street tires at DeSoto it will be a waste of time.
My last VR6 ran very close to 1 second faster on slicks and these slicks were too small (22). I suspect I could have gotten the street tire runs down a little faster but it just wasnt worth the effort.
Weaker FWD cars (like Mad Max...cant believe I said that) seem to run OK on street tires. I wouldnt expect a huge improvement on the Max if I ruan with slicks.
Just my 0.02.

There are always drag radials. I lost a half a second on drag radials. Good enough for street use but they dont handle worth a damn.

My buddy Steve is the on-road development engineer for Michelin for those drag radials! He runs em on his turbo Dodge (which makes 4SFED look like a lame mule.)
