So when you going to get one?? A roll bar might knock you back into the 12s.

Cherry Bomb; How do you like the Orlando track? Does it hook up better than Desoto?

Cherry Bomb

Hey thanks guys. Ill be installing a cage this winter. Gotta get ready for the new motor and BIGGER n2o shot :D

Sparky Orlando Speedworld hooks MUCH beter than Desoto. They prep the track every time before the Super Pro lanes run (12.99 and under) so hooking is usually not a problem. I see a lot of street tires getting 2.0s 60 times. Last night a bunch of cars ran in the 8s and 9s. My buddy Jack pulled a 2.01 on his street tires in his 2000 Camaro SS along the way to a 13.1 with only an intake lid and catback exhaust!

Hey 4sfed 4

Yeah and AL is 800lbs less than me :)

I dont know about top end but my guess without N2O mine would be around 168 if I had the balls! Stock Impalas run around 145 top end and Ive got 110hp more NA. Im sure I could pull all the way to readline in OD (6000). Dont need the N2O for that :D The fastest Ive gone is 4600rpm (130)

Heinz one of our club members in Germany hit 195 on the Autobahn in his turbo Impala.

Wonderful times Cherry Bomb! Color me very impressed!

Out of curiosity do you know many people with similar setups? Im on the import side originally from the Camaro side (its not import/domestic to the Camaro guys its Camaro/Mustang :p) but Ive never met anyone with a car quite like yours.

Im just wondering how many people you know with similar setups and what kind of ETs they are pulling.

hey Denise

As far as I know there are around 20 Impalas in the country running 11s or better so there arent that many. My buddy Chett in Tampa runs 11.7s but hes got a 396. My 350 still has the stock bottom end.

Right now the fastest I know of is John Rafteseh from Georgia and Jorge Perez from Miami. John just ran a 10.82 and Jorge a 10.83 in a heads up race. You have to remember all these cars are fully loaded daily drivers with all the comforts. EVERYTHING is power operated doors windows trunk mirrors seats etc. As a result we normally come in around 4500lbs with driver.

My new block and forged crank is already sitting in the garage!! :) My goal for next year is to run with Jorge and be able to keep up :D

If you want to see my mods and more pictures check my Impala SS website below. Just for your information my first totally stock run was a 15.58 at around 89mph.

hey george

is the john rafteseh guy from georga disabled?? i saw a guy up in atlanta (commerce- atlanta dragway) almost a year and a half ago run a mid 11 in an impala. If i remember right he was a big guy with a bad leg so he had to have some custom controls hooked up in the car. the car was maroon or candy red. I really couldnt tell the color because the thing was MAD fast.

Which would explain why I beat the crap outta one about 2 years ago with my Integra (then running mid 14s). I didnt know they were that slow stock which makes your time that much more impressive. To modify is to take sometimes a very long (and often) expensive road. Youre well on your way.

Hey Scott

Yep thats him. Hes got a bored & stroked LT1 with 409 cu.inches :)

John

Stock Impalas are OK considering their weight but I personally dont know any who havent modded theirs. I guess when you buy a car like that its like a blank canvas waiting for the artists creation :)

Thats one reason why I always applaud anyone who does his own work on his car. Its easy to buy a fast car but to make yours exceed its capabilities is a matter of pride to all real gearheads.
