Im going to try and get everything done...I developed a small miss when Im not accelerating and I dont know what it is. Hopefully just a plug or something (a burned valve would really piss me off right now). Probably some small vac. leak or something I cant see.
Anyway Im going to pull the turbo off Thursday and hopefully get it all back together by the end of the evening so I can really flog it on Friday. Im adding the RRE stainless oil feed line new gaskets helicoild a stripped ex. manifold stud O2 eliminator and whatever else I can Thursday night...heheh. Anyway Im hoping for mid 12s Friday night if my rear doesnt break (keeping fingers crossed) and my IC pipes stay on.

I have a ported small 16G now...actually its Marios old turbo. I ran a 13.5 on 0.9-1.0 bar (13-14.5 psi) on pump gas and a failing 14B last time...that was the max boost the turbo would push at the last T&T (that and my cooling fan broke so I was running the A/C fan only). The 16G spools 1000 RPM earlier (1 bar at just under 3000 instead of 4000) and holds boost to atleast 1.4 bar (20.5 psi...most I have tried running on pump gas) without a problem. My Karman counts jumped from 1650Hz max to 1950Hz max without changing my boost setting if thats an indication of how bad my 14B was. I was having problems with my coupings coming loose at the 1.4 bar setting but I think Ive taken care of that (Im eventually going to have a bead welded on the pipes now that Erics back in town). It feels like its running low 13s on pump gas now but Im also getting a lot of tire spin in first so I might not be able to get the launch to run those times. My best 60 before was 1.84 so I do need to improve either my launches or my traction (yes Joe...I am eventually gonna get the center diff. welded...probably next week...Ill let you know how streetable it is). I also should have the O2 eliminator installed by Friday...Eric is backed up but promised me that he would have it done by Thursday.
Apparently Im going to have to wait till the weekend to replace all the turbo gaskets so I might still have a few small leaks. Not sure...Im going to keep my fingers crossed. ;)
Only thing Im worried about it my rearend holding up since its still a 3-bolt. Ive heard they can make it into the low 12s but when my axle broke and Chrysler replaced it they didnt seal the diff. cover properly and it drained some fluid out and now it makes a grinding sound...not sure how that will effect the rearends longevity but Id rather break it trying to run a mid-12 than driving around town (atleast I would have *some* bragging rights). :D
The only other thing I can think of thats holding me up is my shifting. Partly due to the fact Im missing a couple bushings in the shifter that Im going to replace (hopefully before Friday) and partly because 90 shifters are just plain shitty.

John Cant you replace the bushings with metal washers? I did on mine but I hear the 90s are different.

You can buy this liquid metal header solution to fix any leaks exhaust leaks. I used it on a exhaust leak(bad gasket) and put it around the turbo because my exhaust turbo gasket is bad too. It works great (no leaks) and only $5 at any local auto parts store near the exhaust section. It holds up to 1500 Celcius.

Found out what the miss was...turns out my alternator died again. Thats number 6 or 7 so far (1 year). I hate rebuilds but atleast the replacements are free. :D Alt. was pushing 11.9V at the battery...with the car OFF the batter was at 12V. I replaced it last night so problem #1 is out of the way.
Joe:
90s are the odd-balls once again. The shifter plate doesnt need bushings to bolt to the floor...the holes are just large enough to fit the bolts (which have a built in washer) so I just bolted it directly to the floor without the bushings. One of the benefits of a 90...probably the only one.
BUT the bushings that allow the shifter to pivot side-to-side are gone (in the actually shifter assembly). I replaced them with poly washers (as per the VFAQ) but when the bolt loosens slightly my shifter can rock front to back without shifting gears (small movement but not good when speed shifting 3rd). As far as I can tell I dont need any others (I replaced the bushings on the pivot arm at the bottom/back of the shifter - $7.25 each  and I needed 2!!).
James:
The exhaust leak really isnt a big deal...infact I think Ive taken care of it entirely but I wanted to get all the manifold studs tight so I wouldnt have to worry about it. Well that and I didnt replace the ex. manifold gasket last time I had it off (I hate reusing gaskets). And Ive reused my turbo bolts a few too many times and they arent holding like they used too (Im going to put 4 bolts in and forget the stud so I can pull the turbo without pulling the manifold). Right now I just tighten the turbo bolts down every weekend or so...but Id prefer to set and forget. ;)
Providing Debby doesnt force a cancellation Ill be running on Friday. Im eager to see what kind of times I can pull down on pump gas...then Im going to dump in some race fuel turn up the boost and attempt to break the rearend. ;)
Joe...you need to race just so you can bust out a 12 this Friday (assuming we have the T&T).

I dont understand it Apexi you wont run at the track because you keep getting the same times. That has nothing to do with it. What does running the same time have to do with winning or losing. I understand you not wanting it at the track because there will be lots of witnesses see you go down but if we race again thats where it will be unless we happen to meet crossing the bridge again sometime but maybe this time you will line up next to me instead of behind me. But if your 15.2 is your time at the track I wont even have to race you but if you insist I will but seeing my times at the track are about high 14s to about 15.1 with my car near stock it will be a good race but you will still go down. If my schedule would let me make it to the street races I would but it never does. I may try and make it to Desoto one of these nights for some final test and tuning to get some more stock times for the car before I start to do mods to it. But not sure when. And yeah you better get all the wins you can get in on the Preludes or whatever because you have a loss coming to your belt.

You just keep running your mouth. You will see what happens. Dont always believe times that were run in motor trends and shit. You have no idea how good of a driver you have to be to get those numbers. And since you are not exactly a pro you better hope you get at least a 15.2.
I cant wait to beat you. And if it has to be at a track how about next friday night? Im not sure how my schedule looks but Id be glad to beat you. Just a little bonus my friend in his prelude stayed dead even with a tsi awd with exhaust and some other stuff written on the side. I leave his prelude like nothing. I mean everybody knows that those times in the mags cant be achieved without tons of practice. You see those civic sis stock running 15.6 -15.7 and then you have people go to the track to get nothing better than a 16 flat! No affense to rice-rocket I know its hard to get those times. The person who installed all my stuff on my motor pretty much swore that I would only see 14s. And I ran a 15.2 in 95 degree weather. I bet if he was driving in the winter time it would be 14.7 or so. Believe me when I say it driving takes practice and if you dont have practice your just another kid that thinks he knows it all right off the bat.
You will deffinatly see. I hope you stop talking crap to me and just get serious it will be a good race. AND I WONT SAY Ill WIN LIKE YOU DID! Because you dont know. P.s. A talon is a talon. All these people on this site run such good times because of their driving skills you just ask them how hard it was to get good times out of their cars stock. Sorry if im wrong.
Im just saying. You are going to have to do a lot more than talk to beat me in a race. I make my car fast. My car will move but those shifts and good starts are what keeps people seeing my tail lights. And I know it isnt easy to get a good start on those awds. I mean you can get a perfect start of like a 1.9 or 2.0 but it will take a try or two.
Do you guys think Im wrong? I mean come on you can NOT decide that because a book says a time thats what it is. There are so many other factors.

Perfect 1.9-2.0?? God!! Id cry if that was all i could do! HAHAHA J/K. I run consistent 1.72 60 foots in my car on radials but you ARE right. It took a LOT of practice to learn how to do it. Anyone who says you can just rev to 7k rpms and dump it is WRONG. Esspecially if their motor is stock. The cor would bog and buck all the way to the 60 mark. I also just learned about a month ago that a 3rd to 4th power shift gained me about 2 tenths.
Still practicing i guess.

Hey Apexi those times may as well be in a magazine as the stock times but I have timeslips to prove that I have run those times on my car. And trust me I havent been to the track but yet a couple times in my life. My first ever time at the track I was getting flat 15s and with a couple more trips was able to get it into the 14s. So dont worry I am not the type to say something if I cant back it up. In this case I know I can back it up. And I would have to agree with 94TSiAWD if I got 60 times like that I would start to feel sick thats all the fun with an AWD getting 1.7-1.8 60 times. Well hopefully I will get the chance to bury this hatchet soon.

Joe...Im interested to see how loud it is without the muffler. You have a 2.5 cat-back right? Dropping it should make a huge difference.
As an aside Eric finished the O2 eliminator and I test fitted it. The design is going to take a little modification to fit the AWD since we have the brace that runs just below the radiator...Im going to have Eric modify it slightly to reposition the dump (hopefully).

John the Type-R tranny is geared lower. Like putting 4.11s in the rear end. Dont know if youll gain 6 tenths though... Keep you LS tranny if you plan on going Forced Induction. If you swap it out E-mail 97ex and let him know what you want for the LS tranny...

Unless you run slicks you generally end up with the same ETs when you gear lower. The gain in ET is usually balanced out by an extra shift. Whole different ball game when you can run slicks (no traction worries off the line or when powershifting)...and of course you accelerate harder when on the run. But .6 seconds off the ET by gearing lower? Thats damned in impressive (I guess I have to keep in mind how high these engines rev).

Its all about v-tec for people that dont know. It wont drop 6 tenths but it will help like about 4 or 5 tenths. As everybody knows v-tec is where the power is at. With my ls tranny as I shift from 2nd to 3rd gear it drops my car below v-tec rpms which then takes another second for it to hit the vtec and really take off again.

Hey Apexi sorry to hear your taking the stuff the wrong way. You are taking the thing abpout my car being at least .2 faster than yours the wrong way. Sure it may only be .2 tenths faster but then again you have put alot of money in your car with modifications and my car is basically stock. So it just gets better from there with each little mod I install I just get farther and farther in front of you. How much does an LS Tranny cost anyways? Sounds like a costly item for the amount of money it probably costs I can get similar cost mods and shave a whole second off my time at least. But then again thats what DSMs are all about. Pretty quick off the showroom floor and doesnt cost that much to get them faster. Dont worry there will be the day I am sure you and Green Acura will get your lesson handed to you on the track. I dont race on the city streets call me whatever you want to but that is just plain stupid sure I will blow you off the line at a light and take it up to the speed limit so you can see my taillights but you wont ever catch me on Meridian or anywhere racing at night. And if anyone is Gay it is you because is all you will be staring at is the ass of my car all the way down the track.
AWDtsi im not talkin shit or anything but you shouldnt be all that proud of beating a N/A honda/acura you start with a turbo. you need to set your sights a little higher than that like maybe 94TSiAWD....or even me :D

Damn man u run ure mouth a lot of a car that runs low 15s. i mean shit i wouldnt say shit like u say unless i was running 12s-13s. Your car wont run 5 tenths faster when its cold outside. I ran 2 tenths faster 90 degrees vs 55 degrees. Also u wont lose 5 tenths on a type R tranny. my friend has a b16a in his DX and then got the R tranny and lost 2.1 tenths. I mean damn I could throw my stocks on and jet up it up to 65 and I would run all over ure ass but u dont see me talking shit bc i dont think 15.2 is fast yeh its really fast for an accord but not vs. other domestics. Also i have no vtec 104000 miles the stock clutch 4 doors and 3 mods. I bet u if i bouhght ryans slicks I could run u just the way I am right now (as long as the clutch grabbed) so quit saying thats why so many people see my taillights. 75% of the people on this board would walk all over you. Im not in here going I dusted a GSR integra on dale 2 weeks ago most of them see my taillights. I would simply say that was a good race and I like having good races. Well gee I hope that you can beet the eclipse GS/RS. 1.8L neon engine (145hp). Sorry my car comes with a turbo and the only time the turbo is off is when I will be putting a bigger one on.

I highly doubt that. Factory cars are detuned to say the least and simply turbocharging a N/A engine wont get you that much performance. Then again Hondas dont weigh shit...could be interesting. Wonder why Honda doesnt do that?

why is this thread in the autoX forum?
It used to be a combined auto-x and drag race forum.
The better question is why did Mark bump a 3.5 year old thread?
