they around the same price for audioques idk if i should go with 2 15s or 4 10s?
I could have sworn this question was asked not too long ago at all.
4 10's would be louder, technically due to their much larger surface area, as long as you power them properly, and the specs are within the same area as the 15's in question.
It's all about your preference on sound and how much power and airspace you have for the box design you'd like.

well you see i was looking into 15s because i like when the lower notes are loud. but i thin with 4 10s or 12s it would still be loud becuase of the cone area right?
maybe 4 of these

2 12in solo x's or 1 18in solo x.. with alot of power!!!
the 15's have the ability to move slower and get all that air out pretty quick, even though they are about 10 inches of conespace less than the 4 10's. The 10's just can't touch that low, low bass of 15's, but will be much louder overall. A good compromise are 4 12's like skittle said, I really like that size as well.
I'd just wait until Toby chimes in, he'll come in with a lot of engineering background as to why whatever is better.
I'd go like this
Go 15's if you want to hit the frequencies at 25hz-40hz and still be decently loud. (v6)
go 10's if you don't mind not hitting less than 35hz very well, but having a lot of higher frequency power. (honda vtak)
get 12's if you can (turbo v6 ;) ) lawls
I don't know what I'm talking about. Dunkin donuts and racing notladstyle is affecting meh!

Thought I went through this in another thread. Either set-up will hit sub fqs well in sealed application. In ported you can get them to perform even ebtter across the spectrum.

No.

I'm sure both will get rather low, but the fact that the two 15's are almost designed to move slower for the low freq's it should be a little better than the 10's.
An extreme example would be 10 5" midrange woofers vs 3 15's.
There are probably tons of things wrong with that example but I still see it rather similar

That would be a horrible comparison lol. There are 10" midbass drivers and 10" subs. The drivers are designed to perform differently.

See? I knew there was something stupid with that example.
Fine, use an 8" subwoofer then in place of the 5" midranges and subtract 4 woofers.
I still think they perform very differently, though maybe not as extremely as the 5" midrange example...

I'd go with 2 15's if you're going for loud chest thumping bass, which is all most people care about.

i would do opposite, 4 -10s would give you such tight bass it would snap your head back!

Ehh,I just dropped my 4 10 setup,Granted they were'nt "great" speakers by any standard..I just was'nt impressed for a 1000 watt RMS deal.
My 2 12's I have now outperform them by miles,but again...Quality > Quantity.
