less sound = less rattle.
What do you think causes your trunk to rattle....?

I'm not, I'm asking you to think about it.
Re-read my original post.
Changing the box dynamics will only affect the frequency "sweet-spot" ranges from box to box, thereby increasing/decreasing the ability of whatever frequency is played. There isn't a special no-rattle box design. The only thing to reduce rattles is to keep the volume down under the "rattling point" and/or add weight to the offending panels that are causing the rattling (dynamat or similar product). You can also just try tightening all those panel bolts down a little more if possible.
You don't have to take offense to every post I make, I gave you the answer, just asking you what else you thought?

Just my opinion, I prefer sealed boxes over any other style, and here is why a sealed box will give you plenty of bass and keep the bass tighter and cleaner than a ported box( a ported box will give you more bass though) and then band pass boxes are A. cheap crap unless specifically designed for your subs with good thick plexiglass that does not leak and you also lose all frequencies below 40Hz in a Band pass box.
What I would recomend for you is to sound deaden your trunk with some Hush Mat or another brand of sound deadner

I could build a bandpass box that would destroy fqs from 30-40hz;) or one the is pretty decent from 30-60.

How much money you want to put up?? What brands you carry, you can put up a W205 or a 6610 and I will build a box this weekend.. as long as u can provide an amp to put it in for a quick install. What would you like the box to do? Hit lows?

Build what you said you could build
"I could build a bandpass box that would destroy fqs from 30-40hz"
That sounds like you should be able to build a band pass box doing atleast over a 160 Db from 30- 40 Hz.
I got $500 that says you can't.
I mean destroying these days for the pro's is over 180 Db. So put your money up where your mouth is.

You want me to build a box that does 160s? Are you kidding me? I can get one in the 40s, which most people think 33hz at 144dB is pretty loud, but seriously, you want a box in 160s? I am not a competitor. You said bandpass boxes can't hit low notes like other notes, which I can make it do. Even competitors only have a single note burping box... only guys I know doing close to 160s on music have crazy blow throughs or walls with shit tons of power and subs and they can barley break 160.
It's ok though.. you already proved to me know you don't know anything at all about boxes. If you care argue further though, I will glady post the PM you sent me ;) and let every one else see for them selves how little knowledge you have, but wouldn't want to put you out there like that.

What that you dont tune a box, It is because you don't tune a box why else does not a single box company on the market advertised where there boxes are tuned at. You tune a box accordingly with the subwoofers that you are putting in the box. Just because a box is tuned at 34Hz does not mean shit because that box may sound like crap with one sub in it and great with another.
You are the one that said you could "kill" that is quite a serious word for someone who is now retracting and saying I can make it sound as good as most other people. Shit I can do that with a prefab box.
As a matter of fact I have a prefab box with two $100 15" Audiopipe subwoofers in it that is pretty impressive to most people, and I invite all out to judge for themselves.
Seriously though this all started because you decided to rag on my personal opinion about the quality of sound you get out of a bandpass box.
So lets see you build the box then go to a sanctioned show and win your class and get in the 140 Db range which will be against others in the same class as you with me there and I will not only apologize but will give you a $100 cash, no bet just me standing behind what I said. If you do not do it dont do anything except shut up.

well you saw the truck the other day so you know how it is.
My two kickers hit 126.4db with my walmart meter... only problem is that box is tuned so low i dont have anything test it with.
126 is loud!! i mean LOUD.
500bucks is worth the bet lol and 140s is a fair spot...

140's is actually very impressive for a novelist.
Hey whats up, I remember your truck you had the two kickers in the bed correct, but didn't you have a little amp on there or did you upgrade.

No promises I have to talk with the Landlord of the property of my shop or find another shop willing to do it and I know a few so lets see what we can do.

727 works on amps in his trunk... while its raining....
This will be an interesting bet if he doesnt dodge it.
Lemme get this straight:
14db at 30-40hz with his choice in sub(s) with a peak at 27hz
Please let me know if the terms need to be modified.
I'll put $40 in the hat on that bet if only to get some action in AQH...

Now your trying to twist my words against me?
You were the one that said "band pass boxes are A. cheap crap unless specifically designed for your subs with good thick plexiglass that does not leak and you also lose all frequencies below 40Hz in a Band pass box." And I said "I could build a bandpass box that would destroy fqs from 30-40hzhttp://www.tamparacing.com/forums/../tamparacing/smiles/icon_wink.gif"
And you come in with 160s... which is not "destroying notes", you were being unrealistic with that. Destroyin those notes would be hitting them strong and accurate at a decent level (140+). I am still with my statement. I am not going to enter competitions for you, infact I had a chance to be sponsored by Sundown but I turned it down as I didn't want to let Jacob down cuz I wouldn't do many competitions at all. Anyways I will build a box this weekend if I get time JUST FOR FUN and if you happen to have a show and someone has a SUV I can toss the box in I will gladly prove you wrong. And it will excel under 40hz :)
O and this is coming from the guy that think if you change the subs out of the box it changes the tuning FQ of the box... get real I shouldn't even be arguing with you lol.
PS: It's easy to see in your reading that you are the one trying to retract your statement, I stick by mine 100% ;)

Sealed Boxes will give you better quality of sound, tighter response and ported boxes will give you more Bass but more distortion but if you listen to rap and hip hop mainly who cares because that music is made wqith lots of distortion anyhow, Your Kicker Subs will do fine in either type of box.
