A buddy of mine is one of those "drag" racers. I mentioned something to him about auto-x and he said that it sounds like timatech. He didn't know if is was pronounced timetech, timatach, time & tech or what. He said that "people" said it so fast that he couldn't tell. He also said that "it" is really becoming popular. Has anybody heard of this and know what it is?

Time attack Is similar to autocross in it's a single car against the clock, but it's usually held on closed racing circuits. where lap times can be compared between classes and on different days. Time Attack, Time Trial, Solo-1, Hillclimb are all related being faster (and more dangerous) versions of autocross.
Clockwork was being built as a Time Attack class killer, however with the new budget development plans are on hold. I still get my employee discount at GM and the new Cobalt turbo with 260hp and brembo brakes comes out in a couple months. NOW to see if I can get the factory to squirt one in sunburst orange metallic. it's cheaper to buy the horsepower then to make it.
The cobalt turbo has been caught at nurburgring lapping in 8:22
Just to give you some background how fast that is for a FWD car. My fastest lap there is 13:43 in a Pegeout 206.
other cars that lap "the ring" in 8:22
E46 M3
Skyline R-32
M-Coupe
that's 2 seconds FASTER then an STI!!! $333 a month and lifetime powertrain warranty!! your going to see a TON of these showing up at tracks. it's the new WRX as far as performance bargains.
