View Full Version : 20v help, clutch line question somebody should know

not cool enuff to be a drifter but maybe you seen my deathproof 86
well my motor is ready to be pulled and taylor is somewhere with my 20v fabbed and wired megasquirt style.....until then there are a few last things to figure out.
since ill be using a gts bell-housing, how have people routed the hard metal line to the other side? maybe i can see someone's gts, or are these lines still available? if not does anyone know a place in the area to a cost effective one? just to be clear im talking about the hard line from the master cylinder, then i figure ill get a gts rubber clutch line and setup my clutch slave on the other side? help a brother out? also im gonna be pulling my motor soon, its ready just need a hoist,i know could rent one but maybe someone wants to come over for some beers and bring theirs? that last part isn't that important you guys are too cool for that but share the info..... clutch line info would be greatly appreciated

sick, no way got my suspension all done, kyb agx's tein camber plates swift 6k/4k, replaced rusty fender whose this by way?

You cant buy the clutch line anymore it's discontinued from Toyota. The only options you have are:

Find a GT-S clutch line
Get a steel braided line made
Make your own line (if you have a flare and bending die)

Honestly i would just get the steel braided line. It's cheap, you can feel a difference in pedal stiffness, and you can manuver it easily. Good luck on your 20v swap glad to see another corolla owner out there. If you need any questions just ask :)

jon u still want that tranny, got any parts to trade or that cage?
more importantly glad theres a discussion absent of tools right now....b18c5 your talking about the metal hard line? or the rubber clutch hose? i assumed on gts the metal line was longer to reach to the other side of the bellhousing..i think max from illegal garage said metal generic lines were available i could bend....any insights out there? kung fu grip you find anything to throw my way?

I coul make the steel braided lines for the clutch(well atleast i have the tools too) ill have to hit you up about that also.

Yep, there are metal generic lines you can bend, thats what i was talking about when i said you could just make your own. Get some line from a place that sells brake line and fittings, get a flare kit and some bending dies and you can make your own. And I was talking about the hard line, however, you can run a steel braided line for the soft line also. Honestly it's the best bang for the buck to get steel braided, after going from my stock corolla to this one with all braided lines i'll have steel braided lines on all my cars. Your already going to buy the line, might as well spend the extra 30~$ and get steel braided you dont have to bend.

stupid question, anyone know a place around here to get lines, fittings some steel braided lines etc....then jon maybe you help me throw it together. good looks on the specifics b18c5
edit or just steel braided to run for the whole thing

when i did my 5spd swap in cressida i ran a hard line all the way from the master cylinder to the slave cylinde, :lol: ghetto but it worked. you can get lines from advanced or whereever i think. you can bend hard lines with your hands, its easy~! good luck
