Cobra vs Eagle Talon

Driving to work this afternoon a red Talon pulls infront of me. So I am behind him on a one lane road and every 30 sec or so he punches it to the floor WTF? Every time he does this I get to breath in about 1 quart of oil that hes burning lol. So after about 3 quarts of oil I have had enough of it. We pull up at a light both of us are heading to US19 South. He takes off as fast as he can I leave about 2 seconds later because I had a red light and needed to look for traffic. I then proceed to haul his ass in fast! I can see his eyes buggin in the mirror as I am reeling his ass in fast. I then pull dead even with him and say time to eat some of my fumes and punch it! After I smoked him on came the falshers LOL. We both then caught a light and I asked him if he wanted to run from a stop he said na thats okay my cars not running right? I then told him how much oil he was burning when he got on it. He seemed not to know it was but how could you not know all you had to do is look out the back window and see all the black smoke?

Not sure about the rims never really took a look at it. As far as the year again Im not big on the imports but it had eagle on the left side under the tail light and talon on the the underneith of the other tail light. Maybe someone who knows Talons can tell by this who knows. Plus it was kinda hard to see because of all the smoke http://www.tamparacing.com/ubb/smile.gif

What year was it? New body or old body style? How many exhaust tips? 1 non-turbo 2 turbo. I assume stock exhaust here. Talons are hard to tell if AWD. Usually you can just see the diff from behind the car. Talon TSi is FWD turbo. TSiAWD is AWD. Smoke was most likely a blown turbo. If non-turbo I would say valve guides. Regardless nice kill but some day we may have to goto the track so I can teach you not to pick on Talons. Gimme a bit to get this thing straightened out. http://www.tamparacing.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Teal it did not look like your car in the pic. It seemed to be more of a boxy look rather than a rounded rear end. Looked stock to me.

I love that about turbo cars. When people tailgate me I tap the gas serveral times dumping fuel out. It gives the guy behind me a nice smoke screen. Black smoke is a running rich car with possibly a catless system and blue/grey smoke is burning oil. Maybe the guy just needs to tune his car some or turn up the boost.

I prefer turniing up the fuel and bouncing off the 2-step. Flames coming out the tailpipe tends to get people off your ass. http://www.tamparacing.com/ubb/biggrin.gif I did it to some neck in a dually a while back on Tampa Rd. He went over 2 lanes and left me alone.

Is it good to have black smoke comming out on a turbo car?? My civic is turbo everytime punch it and look back not a single black smoke. Im pretty sure the car is not running lean my EGT guage reads only 7 ???

It is usually a small black cloud. You normally cant see it unless you are behind the car. Ive seen turbo civics do it too.

I assume thats 700 C? If so thats just short of 1300 F and is pretty safe.

Yeah Black smoke was probably fuel. Annoying none the less! http://www.tamparacing.com/ubb/wink.gif Mine is so rich right now I can smell it in the car when I punch it. Once I up the boost from the current level of 9 psi it will be a bit leaner. Anyway nice kill. Nice to beat the guy who started it.

Joe nice times in the 1/4. I would say he was burning oil not running lean. The smoke seemed to be way to thick but you guys know better than me on this subject.

Thanks man. Time will be greatly improoved after my clutch breaks in. I have done A LOT of work to the car in the last 3 months. The car feels as fast now as it did before... the difference is Im running 9 psi now and was running 20 psi before. Maybe we will see you out at the track sometime.
