Regarding the Nov 4th weekend... desoto is just a test and tune date, so hopefully it won't interfere with the OSW crowd.

I'm just a newb, but plan on going to the OSW and Ter-tech(skidpad) events, and then if I have made enough progress probably go to the Nov.16 desoto event.
Wish the sunday practice wasn't the day after OSW might go anyway.

We try to cut it off at 730, but we usually end up letting it go till 8-830 depending on how steady the pour in of drivers is. We try to cut it off so people will get there early and get some practice time. If box is still trying to figure out a course, we will keep letting check in go till he figures it out.

Ok so here is whats going on. None of this is official yet. Just hear say as of now. At the event the track owner was upset that we only had 12 drivers attend, but at the Sunday Practice we had 17. He gets the idea in his head that people only want to drift for cheap. Which is true, but he has a business to run. Lights are expensive to turn on at night. Crew he has to pay, etc etc. So loosing a ton of money on Friday night, he said Im going to cancel all practices, no more. This could have been an irrational statement made out of anger and disappointment, or the truth. We have not heard final word yet. Believe me, I will fight and do what I have to do to keep out practice days, but I need your help. We need good turn outs at the events to keep these practice dates open. Here is where we stand for the remainder of the year. Nov 4th is practice. Nov 16th is the event. Nov 16th will be the last event of the year, except for the nopi event on Dec 16th. I would really really really like to have a HUGE turn out on the 16th. I know, it sucks that it is right after Moroso. I believe that if we can have a really good turn out, (20 drivers or more) than he will allow us to keep our practices. Then we can come back into the new year swinging. If you have any more questions, pm me. We need your help to keep this going. Ovals need love to. Lets bring Central Florida up in the game. Let me thank everyone who has come out to the events, and practices, we really do appreciate your patronage, and look forward to seeing you again.

we have been trying to pitch that idea for while, if you show up at the practices, you will see im always doing whatever i can, usually up at the grid with dave. John is worried about people who doesnt know collecting money. and dave and one other person have a key so they would still have to pay them. im not sure exactly whats going on

I seen someone mention doing a documentary I would be willing to edit it if someone gets the footage. I would be more than willing to shoot and edit it but I dont have a video camera at the moment. I was thinkin we could even make different segments for each event and sell them the following event to help make some extra money to keep this running. at the end of the season/year sell a compilation. i havent been out to a event yet so i dont know how sucessful this idea may be but just a thought. I will probly head out to the event to spectate on the 16th.

So... Practice today, How did it go? I could only stay for a little bit before I had to go take care of some things. I saw a lot of new faces/cars out there. Now we just need to get them on here and showing up to the event. Kid in the white coupe, with the pig nose lip was doing really well. Did any photographers end up making it out?

I was even thinking yesterday they hold autocross events at the brooksville airport all the time why not drifting?

Its not very wide, the one field is owned by someone else thats to the one side and does not want anyone in it. Plus you have to register 2 weeks in advance to get onto the site, which is a pain if you wanna do an event
