i'm replacing the harmonic balancer on my 98 gst...its the harmonic balancer on the crankshaft pulley? need help on the best way to get the old one off and replace it with a new one. i got a puller for it but i need to know what to do. thanks

The harmonic balancer is the crank pulley. it's just a matter of talking off the old one and installing the new one.

you will probably have to take the driver side tire off, and possibly the driver side motor mount so you can lower the engine if there is not enough clearance between the engine and the frame of the car for the pulley to come out. other than that, loosen the alternator so you can take that belt off. and im not sure what belt the a/c compressor runs off of if you have one, but loosen whatever that belt is connected to (alternator or powersteering pump i think...ive never had a/c so its hard to tell you what to loosen as far as that). now that is basically it, take off belts, tire, then pulley, and possibly motor mount.
