:lol:n Since dalton isn't responding...
Jus need someone to find specs for me and tell me how much to cut my box down to.
Thanks
download and use WinISD... It's not too hard to figure out, and experimentation is the best way to learn how sounds and your subwoofer works.

Well yea, but I don't have any wood. I'm just cutting down a nasty box that I have and hoping to improve some sound....
In that case, figure out the amount of airspace the box requires for the method of enclosure you're attempting and just make sure that you use basic math to match it as best you can.
And DAMN, that's being cheap as hell, are you the next 1stgen7?
Go buy some MDF, its like 12-18 bucks for two large sheets of 3/4 inch, and it will be more than what you'd need.

Ohh, don't even start with me being the next 1stgen7... :-|
Anyway, No, I just want to cut down the current box for the correct size.
I need .75cf per JLAudios site.
So I'm cutting the box down 11.5 inches and removing the port.

In my opinion, way too much thought goes in to sealed boxes. Just take the port out, and make it fit where you want it to.
People make a big deal out of calculated response...10hz lower F3, tight bass, low bass, booming bass, etc. In reality, between reflection, cabin gain, and phase issues, it is difficult to really effect the audible performance of a sub in a sealed box.
Unless you are just way out of alignment (.25 cu for a 15, or something) it will most likely be just fine.

Toby...
The box is way out of alignment. It was around 1.5cu and needed to be cut down to .75.
I would say that is overkill...

That's not necessarily 'way' out of alignment. Until you get to about 3 times the VAS of the woofer, the enclosure still effects the woofer. Above that, you are just running free air, which still works. Some people (like me) like the big box / free air sound.
Also, bigger sealed boxes are more efficient than smaller ones.
If the bigger box didn't fit, cut it down. If you just want a smaller box, cut it down. But, if you are expecting huge differences in how it sounds, you may not get that.

I'm not expecting a huge difference in sound whatsoever.
The box is a big hunker and ugly, the portion I am cutting off is cracked and chip and has small holes throughout. It is a box made for marine use and I am just "Refining the edges" if you will, whilst making it smaller.
