i figured i would start a thred for you guys to watch the build up of the integra that we have in the shop currently.
this car has some history around town, so some of you may have seen it before.
either way, we were given the opertunity to take a car that has some serious goodies in it and refine it into a show quality power house.
the car already came with a dart super deck block with matching cnc head. it was originally built high compression so to aid that a 3mm head gasket was added.
some of the turbo stuff was already built, but we are pretty much re-doing everything. the only thing that will not be a custom piece from driven concepts is the manifold (which we had to modify of the t4 turbine and 48mm turbosmart wastegate).
in addition to the turbo stuff, we upgraded the transmission, fuel system and a couple other things.
i will be updating this thread and the welding pics thred (just the pictures)
so enough talk, here are some pictures.

so we finished up the manifold today, fabbed up the radiator brackets and started making the down pipe. tomarrow i'm going to focus in on the downpipe and the dump tube fabrication.
i'll probably end up mounting the intercooler and maybe start getting the bumper trimed up so we can start running intercooler pipes.
there is a lot of work to be done, but most of this will come together here in the next week or two.
its an exciting job and i'm looking forward to the finish product.
heres some more pictures of what was done today.

I hear a Clutch Masters FX700 TwinDisc calling that cars name
should we have put an xtrac in it too?
clutch is rated at 560 ft/lbs.
this car will be driven on pump most of the time. we are shooting for 500~550ish 90% of the time.

we'll considering he would have to run race gas to get more then that, i'm assuming track time and dyno time would be limited to anything higher and i'm assuming he will be driving the car on pump gas most of the time.
make sense?

You go and suck a carrot mike!!!!
yea in talking with Mike i made it clear that I really want to be able to drive it on the street and not have to worry about it killing me. he gave me plenty of options to make it a str8 race car but that is not really the way I want to go. I want a street car with a little power that has the ability to move out at the track if I want it to. I plan to run 93 in this at almost all times. Its looking pretty sweet though.

I'd put in a Magnus dogbox haha .. Just stating for a street car I have found the FX700 to be more forgiving than a single disc ACT Puc unit

thanks for the compliments.
big thanks to ryan for letting us do are thing with his project.
we have all the bases covered, just need to get it exicuted in the next couple weeks.
i was going to grab some pictures today but forgot.
i've spent the last couple days making ss lines and figuring out placement for the components as well as how the fuel system will be run. the tank is in the car now and ready for the pumps and lines.
i wanted to go with an oe style reliability with running ss lines and hard line, so the fuel system will take some time to get right. it should be pretty bad ass when its done.
half of the dump tube is finished as well as the elbow being welded to the turbo.
danny and antonio have been doing a bang up job on this car, so the credit is far from all mine.
keep tuned it, i'll have some pics on monday at the latest.

the filter and the pumps will be underneith the car in the rear. i'll get pics of that stuff as i build it.
i'm running twin bosch 044 pumps into a single aeromotive fuel filter which will feed a single dash -8an line up to the rail. -8an to the regulator and then -6 back to the tank.
the tank has been sumped too.

so the 4" down pipe is routed and ready for the electric cut-out. i left it long after the y transition because i'm not totally sure where i need to put the cutout to get it to fit correctly. after the cutout it will turn down. should be pretty bad ass when we're done. i still have to do some cleaning on the 4 to 3 inch transition.
ryan's initail request for exhaust was somthing quite but performance minded, hence the cutout. only loud when you want it to be. so with that in place we're going to finish the exhaust off with 3" stainless, resonator and apexi world sport muffler. v-band all the way.
there is a couple pictures of the fuel tank and the rear driver side of the car. thats going to be where the twin pumps will go as well as the fuel filter.

What's the catch can / ventilation setup going to consist of?
2 - 8an lines from back of the block
2 - 8an lines from the valve cover
1 - 8 or 10an line to the intake (before turbo)
all going to catchcan with breather (i might cap the breather portion)
i had a bad expierence running exhaust pan evac systems and i've seen a couple expensive setups get ruined due to vaccume pumps, so i'm keeping it simple.
i'm not really a fan of check valves. i don't like adding components that can lead to sevre engine damage if they fail.
i figure we'll try it out and make changes if needed.

Sounds great  I usually just run lines to the can/box with a couple atmosphere vents
i've done that a couple times before. only down fall is that the breather will stink pretty bad at idle. a little bit of suction from the turbo will help get rid of the smell, not to mention the suction from the turbo on the top end will pull a lot of that exhaut gas out during heavy load, picking up a couple ponies and saving your gaskets.
i might get rid of the breather for the benifits of vaccume under load.

been a couple weeks. not really that much to show for. we had to make another large part order (fittings and piping) to get back on track. there should be a lot more progress in the next week. after talking to ryan (owner) we are going to try to shoot for the middle of december for a finish date, so there should be some pretty cool stuff happening pretty quick.
most of the earlyer pictures were during mock up stage, so now we are doing our finish install of most of the components and running lines. i've been working on multiple projects but i did get a chance to get some pictures of some bling parts today. keep tuned in, its only going to get better from here on out.

the exhaust is all welded now. the new master/brake booster is in. the raditor is modified for larger in/out to match the head. not a ton done today, but the car should be running on thursday. we still have to run the hard fuel lines, bolt on parts and do some wiring.
should be good to go.

down to crunch time now. i made the rest of the hard fuel line this morning as well as cleaning all of the existing an lines and then giving them a final tightening.
installed the intake manifold, wiring harness and started running our final electrical stuff.
i also managed to weld the water neck outlet so its pointing at the radiator now.
we turned the engine over with just the starter to check compression. numbers were 225-225-225-215, so we are in business. i can't wait to see what this turbo will spool at considering the compression.
either way, so we have a bunch of little stuff to button up, but we're still planning on starting it up tomarrow later in the day and a tune on friday.
below are a couple pictures. i'll get some better ones tomarrow.

so we ended up not getting the car tuned. we finally gave up at about 6 tonight. we figured out all the bugs, but it didn't leave us enough time to tune the car and fit the front body panels on. either way, i'll be on vacation until the first, so look for some updates the first week in jan.
it runs, its timed, no leaks and the fuel pumps sound like niagra falls. we have a couple more small things to wire up and a couple other additions.
thanks again to ryan. hes a very cool guy and i'm glad he has the patience that a build like this takes. don't worry buddy, i have some more tricks up my sleeve to make it worth the wait.

Well, late night, just got back from Brotherz Racing, we were able to put down 629.4whp @ 17psi w/ 488tq. After an hour or so of trying, we finally gave up to score some better numbers due to some serious slippage of the tires on the dyno. We were planning to achieve well over 700whp (hoping 800s) with 25~30 psi, but that was a no go. We had a gallon of VHT on the tires by the end of the night, with NO traction once Vtec and boost hit. Will have pictures and chart up as soon as we can.

Well, that's the question everyone has. Here's a hypercritical guess.
At 15psi the car produced 580ish, with the boost turned up to 17psi, the car then made 617whp (I think) and then with a little fine tuning, it made 629whp. So, if you take the difference between the two, on average the car made 25whp per psi. Given the different variables, let's say 15whp per psi, if we turned it up to 25psi, that's 8psi more. 8 X 15 = 120 + 629 = 749whp.
So, I would say it's safe to say that it WILL make 700whp, again, that's with minor adjustments to the setup.
never said it needed the high boost.....but just curious as to what it will make on high boost, if 17 lbs made 630WHP....... :dunno:

Don't tell Mike, but when I found out about him taking you home this morning and with the knowledge of the terrible pile up on I-4, I was getting worried that he might have been involved. I guess I wasn't as lucky as I thought, because he's back at work now.
Thanks for the dysfunctional family comment! That's how we roll! But honestly, we do a lot of functions like this, I think it provides a great chance for everyone to just chill and hang out without all the added pressure that we have at the shop.
lol. I am down.............
especially with teh vht
Mike is the fucking man as is everyone at DC. We ran into a small issue with the car and both felt it would be good to leave it to make sure everything was cool. Then mike drove me home at 6 in the morning. Home for me is in lakeland. He rocks and is indicitve of the type of employees DC has.
Its cool as hell to see John, Antonio, Danny, Ian , Mike, and the whole dysfunctional DC family out there at the dyno at 1 am.

sweet spot on that turbo is about 28~30psi, so i'm hoping we'll be able to run that at some point. at that level i'm hoping for high 700's. i'm thinking we can break 700whp on these injectors, but i'm not sure if we are going to get any more then that. probably going to see 700whp on about 20psi.
probably going to try bumping the fuel pressure if we hit a wall. worse case senario the injectors will have to be bumped up.
other concern is the clutch and axles. clutch held fine, but its not rated for much more then when we are throwing at it. i decided to go with a single 6 puck with the extreme pressure plate from act, for street drivability. i wasn't expecting that much torque though, so the clutch will most likely have to be upgraded in the future.
all in all, the car ran great and suprised the hell out of me. most guys running these kinds of numbers are running about 5~10 more psi on the same turbo. got to love the dart motor;)

i am having mixed feelings, my wife loves the way the car looks right now, I dont mind it it looks a little ricey but it will give some cars a suprise or 2.
Me I was leaning real heavy towards the JDM front end but unless someone is gonna give it to me I am probably gonna go 2001 front w/lip, type r skirts, stock bumper black paint. I have all the bumpers and stuff just gotta wait to get cash for paint, a cage is more important right now.

brakes are fixed, car runs great and holy shit, you better hold on!
i finished them up tonight and took it for a spin to make sure all is well. it still needs to go back for some tuning due to the new dizzy, but even short shifting is fun.
before with the old tires, it would burn out pretty easy, even doing 80mph. the new drag radials made all the difference. it will hook pretty good in 3rd with a small amount of spin at the top, but 4th plants pretty good. i didn't really take it up very high.
it needs an aligment like non other. its a pretty scary ride right now. definatly have to two hand it.
we've got a couple small things to do, but hopefully we might make it on the dyno tomarrow.
power band is like getting hit by a bus..... in a good way.

dude the owner of this honda will probably get the car back and wreck it in a week. But i supposed if he doesnt it will be going back to stock not so much for looks sake but because said owner doesnt want shit flying off on the track.
