im getting ready to paint a valve cover, and all i can think is "man this thing is tough to tape off".

has anyone painted their valve cover, and do you have any tips lol

im just being lazy i guess

 

paint the whole thing then sand the letters down ...

 

well i want a black valve cover with red letters

 

I have done it and its a pain in the ass.
Get it powder coated.

 

hey man ill sell you mine, that i bought off of tom^^^ black with polished letters.... it says mitsubishi on top...way nicer than yours

i currently have 3 different valve covers, the stock dull silver one on my car now, a black polished one with faded red "DOHC". its all scratched up though. and third, one from a cyclone motor, the one that says mitsubishi on top but thats the dull silver too.

im trying to redo the black polished one. I might take the cyclone one though and do that.

 

take one of the ones that says 16v 2000 and try removing all the letters and numbers so its just flat and blank then paint or powdercoat it gloss black and it should look tits.

 

yeh but i want the letters.

and i dont have a grinder

well its this one here. i'll sell it to you, but first i have to make sure the one i'm putting on my car doesnt have cracks or anything. if this is the only good valve cover out of the 3 i have, I'll need it for my car. And it wont be til nov 9th or so, when i get my car done. ill keep you in mind though, if you're still interested.
