I bought myself an off camera lighting setup this week. Setup consists of a couple of Alien Bees strobes and all of the accessories. Haven't had much of a chance to use them yet, but here's a quick sample from earlier tonight. It seems as if I'm going to have to invest in some lens hoods to get this shot in the future.

Also, wasn't there a "put a face to your name" thread in this forum somewhere? Can't find it.

A hood would probably help, but that setup I dont think would be needed for shooting an engine bay unless you were going to creative. A good fill flash works well for engine bays.

A hood would have avoided the lens flare on the left side, for sure.

Creativity is the spice of life. That's what I was going for, something a little more exciting than your run of the mill snapshot. I think it came out nicely other than the fact that it's not perfectly centered and it has lens flare.
