There's no need to reply! I don't want to get into any debate about the Lakeland track, it's staff, management or ownership. I just want to let everybody know that they are going to start their regular Saturday night racing program on November 3rd. They are going to start with a Quick 8/16 and regular bracket classes with pay outs. A flyer with all the details will be given out at the gate this Thurs and Sat. I also would think that they will post it on their web site.
I was there tonight and the track looks really good. All the lights poles are in operation, all the surfaces look good and clean. All the electrical problems with the sensors, computers, score boards and end off track warning lights have been solved. Tonight I did not see one single car spin the tires including one 5.55 running import and several 5.80 V8 cars. I'm telling you it was hooking. I spoke to Roy and they have been experimenting with the mixture for the VHT and have come up with a working solution. They also have widened the track and their new sprayer sprays the complete concrete width and the whole lenth of the racing surface (660 ft).
Like I said before, This is just an announcement, those that wish to come out and try to get some of the lakeland money, you're welcome to come out and try, those that don't you'll be missing out. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Good luck and safe wishes wherever you decide to race. George Vega
