Default Type R Parts ???

im not sure of what i should do to my teg Type R. its already got good suspension on it and cold air intake. but alot of people are telling me that its not even that good for my car and it will ruin my motor if water gets sucked into it.. should i leave the aem cold air intake on it or get different intake system. what kind of intercooler should i get as well i wan a really good one.. and no im thinking of whether i should do all motor or throw a turb on it. which kind are real good. and what should i do to my head? and what type of cams and pistons? i want alot of power from the motor wihout having to put on a turbo.. but i am in the future so i can get way more power.. so i know i should get small cams

if your car isnt turbo why the hell do you think you need an intercooler, and whoever is saying that about cold air intake is a complete idiot.
also, imo if you turbo an integra type r (which i doubt you really own do to the lack of knowledge you have in general about cars) you would be ruining the entire car. if you want to boost it, go buy an integra ls, and sell the type r to someone that deserves it.

to answer your question.

do nothing to it.
leave it alone.
its a shame to see butchered R's

Do basic bolt ons for now until you get more familiar with Hondas.

And CAI's can ruin your motor if you drive through a puddle and suck water up into it. Water does not combust like air does, resulting in a possible hydrolock.

And don't try to say that a CAI will give you 15 more HP that a short ram. The differences are close to nothing. I rather have .5 hp less and not have to worry about hydrolocking my motor.

If it's your DD car, you don't have to go looking for puddles. After a big rain, there are puddles everywhere, and some which are not avoidable. In Florida, where it rains torrentially every day in the summer, big puddles are common. I'm sure everyone that has hydrolocked a motor, has done so intentionally.

If you plan on staying all motor a good flowing header/exhaust/intake combo would be a start.

There after you should look into a set of adjustable camgears, a tunable engine management system such as hondata, ectune, neptune & some dyno time

We have seen great gains on stock internal ITR setups with cam gears & dyno tuning.
