well some of you may have read that my car had all its money spent in the engine and trans. well today i bought rear shocks. time to get rid of those 177k mile rear shocks. the fronts will be delt with soon too.

also i have been thinking i am about to blow the rear end out of my car due to alot of noise coming from it.

well as i am under there changing the rear shocks i notice there is a bolt loose on the panhard bar. so i grab it and shake it and there is my god awful noise. i hate when other people have work on something before me. i have ocd when it comes to stuff and it usually takes me twice as long to fix things because i check bolts 2 and 3 times. and i never have extra parts left unless i was suppost to in the end.

well after i changed the shocks and cleaned up i went for a quick ride on a road my rear tires will usually rub on my fenders. NO MORE RUB...

wow does it launch straight now. before it would track left and right thought third gear.. you would never hear the rear tires grab...
now it launchs hard and hardly tracks right in first. grabs then shifts to second and spins the tires again and grabs.. then 3rd and spins the tires a little and grabs.
i think the old girl may be making a track visit before too long. the only 2 runs this car has seen was with the old blown shocks and the same street tires that on on the car right now.

they should be the crimped lock nuts factory because they tq at like 80ftlbs or something. most lock washers can't handly that. they get all fucked up.

oh yeah.. check that the bolt holes on the car didn't get wallowed out from them being loose and banging around for a while. that happens pretty easily

actually one of them did seem to be wallowed out a little. any idea how to addresse this? it was the one that was loose.
i have some big lock washers that seem to go on just like they should. didn't seem like the nut was crimp locked.

time to order a BMR panhard bar

how will that help with the holes on the rear end where the panhard bar mounts to?

easiest way I know of is to find a good grade 8 washer that the hole fits the bolt your going to use tight and weld 2 of them to the outside of the bracket that the bolts go thru.

there may be an easier way but that's all I've ever done.
