Well just got done installing my Brembo BBK and guess what it dont fit! The only thing Brembo claims you need is 18" X 7.5" wheels and guess what i have.....18" X 7.5" wheels. They come stock with the Spec B so you would thingk when you order the kit they would fit....WRONG! I need wheels spacers to make this thing work and guess what now....no ones has them! I tried Advance auto Parts (didnt carry them), NAPA (didnt have the right size), Pep Boys (didnt have the right size), and autozone (didnt carry them). So now what....i did all this work and i dont have a car to drive to work tomorrow! Anyone in Tampa know of a place to get wheel spacers that would be open on a sunday? If not does anyone know where to get them at all? I may have to go to some wheels shops tomorrow because non are open on a sunday it seems!

which kit did you get, the brembo GTR kit?
and almost no wheel company says you only need 18s or 17s or whatever they may be. They always have something that says some wheels may not fit. Strange they didn't have a template anywhere, I know stoptech has templates that you can print out off of their site to check the wheels first.

No template.....problem is the offset of the rim....no one knows anywhere to get wheel spacers?

MugenR has an STI, 5x114 would be the bolt patter on those, unless they are dual pattern they wont work.

The specB has Prodrive P1's which i think are the same wheels that come on an sti....which is why i dont get they dont fit...fitment is only off by like a 1/8".....still looking for locals who might knwo where to get wheels spacers....I have one opportunity but they wouldnt be available til 4 pm tomorrow.....need somethign first thing in the AM or maybe even tonite...

XAT Racing (813-231-7223) has 10mm wheel spacers galore. I believe that they will fit over 5x100, but am not positive. The most definitely fit on 5x114.3.
The brakes fit inside the wheel shell, right? If your problem is interference with the backside of the face, that can't really be blamed in Brembo, but it sucks nonetheless. I believe the difference in fitment is due to the thickness of the rotor hat (thinner on your application, thicker on STi)

actually now that I think about it. you cant really used more than a 5mm wheel spacer without extended wheel studs. I ran the 5mm on my sti and I could only get about 5.75 turns out of the lugs which is not enough, I believe you need at least 7 turns.
I have the 8 mm spacers here though if you wanna try.

I thought spacers were supposed to be terrible for wheel bearings

depending on the size. I think 5-8mm would be the most I would run. I personally have never heard of anyone having a wheel bearing failure from running spacers.
however it is definately not "good" for the wheel bearing.

the more you lower the offset the more stress you will put on your bearings. I run +35 on my race wheels and have to change my wheel bearings every
5-6 months. It also depends on the width of the wheels as well.

The title of this thread should be "Pissed off, thanks bad installation and no research"
