Weird Request...

Anyone might know the speaker sizes to a 1961 Volkswagen beetle?

If it helps, it is completely German...? From what I understand, imported to Colombia straight from Germany.

I need to send my uncle down some replacement speakers, they are expensive as hell over there, crappy quality, and I said I would do him the favor of getting him some.

He thinks the sizes are 5" and 6", but I think he might be wrong and I just want to be 100% sure before I buy them and send them down.

Anyone who can help would be very much appreciated.

If I remember correctly, old beetles didnt come with anything but AM radios and a single speaker under the dash. Later (72+) Super Beetles may have had FM and door speakers, but I still dont think they came with rear speakers at all. That being said, most people have put door/kick panel and rear deck speakers in. Could be any size. I have seen 5.25/6.5 in the doors/kicks and 6.5/6x9 in the rear deck.
