Hey guys, yesterday after detailing my new 1999 BMW 540i (for 10 hours) the rear drivers side window decided it didn't want to go up. I need to get in there and take a look at it. I took the 1 screw in the door handle out and I popped the plastic pieces out of the door frame. Now I'm stuck. I'm not sure if it's connected to the black area at the top, or not. Does the black area with the tweater and roll-up window shade have to come off? Could someone help me out here? I had to ghetto rig my nice BMW so the window doesn't fall down :-(

Looks like the panel is held on by snap clips.

Thanks for the link. I guess I'll just have to have at it again and see if I can figure it out.

One thing about bmw interior is once you take it apart once it never quite fits good again. The little plastic clips that go all the waya round always rip off the door panel and need to be re-glued. I used to use a strong plastic screwdriver to take those panels off. Good luck.

what was already said bmw door pannels are held on by tons of snap clips, take them off carefully you will break a bunch probaly. new ones can be gotten from bmw they are cheap

when i had a 00 528i i had to take mine apart. take your time it will come apart. then to put it back it'll take a real long dam time but it will go back just as good as new
