Default Need unbiased opinions: Should I swap my head?

Im getting mixed messages from everyone I know on whether I should get this head or not, so I want some unbiased opinions here.

Ok, here's what I've got: 91 Crx Si currently with a stock b17 swap, running a 55 Zex shot, no motor work done what so ever, and the head is pretty dirty. I am being offered a b18 Gsr head, completely cleaned & rebuilt. I already know the b17 head is "the worst flowing head on the planet", but what would you do? Give me your reasons why or why not.

keep the head and get the ls "stoker" block. that will give you the best gains. swapping head for head isnt worth the time. if you do the block swap(including the deck/dowell machining) you will go from the 81mm stroke to 89mm and increase your torque from 117 to 128.

depends on how good of a deal your getting on the other head... i would do the swap and while the head is off throw a sleeve guard in there and bump it up to like a 75 to 100 shot g/l and let us know you decision

b17 and b16 heads are the same. compared to the gsr they also flow about the same too.....ive seen the flow charts n each has its advantages at certain points of lift. the gsr head will give a slight bump in comression due to the smaller combustion chambers.

it all depends on the deal ur gettin on the gsr head. keep in mind u wont b able to use ur b17 intake manifold. also, the gsr cams have slightly more duration than the b17s, (which wont make much of a difference bc theyre both stock cams). just things to keep in mind.

personally.....stick with what u have bc itl save u some money and its really not that much different then the gsr. ull get more compression but thats about it. g/l n keep us posted.

keep ur head..if u plan to do work..id do either valvetrain and cams or start on a bottom end..ls or b20 to get some real power out of it..
but switchin out a head for MAYBE 2whp if any really..is not worth it..and port n polish isnt worth it imo if ur not using a nice built bottom end..
