Not sure where else to post this, I only saw videos or links in the video forum.

I've used Windows movie maker and it's okay as well as Ulead but if I could get my hands on some really nice software, what would you guys recommend?

I've put together alot of basic videos, but I want to do alot more.

Edit: btw, my searches either suck or there's not many threads asking about this.

Pinnacle? (sp?) I have it, along with like 3 other i got bundled with hardware i've bought over the past few years. I still haven't used it. Although i've head it to be ok. I dont make many vids though. WMM does what i need it to. Every other software i have used is always flaky(Can't recall names).

Thanks, I'll check into Pinnacle too.

So far I've been told Avid Express HD, Adobe Premiere Pro and Sony Vegas are good. I've never used any of them so maybe I'll get more feedback before I dive into one.

Yea, WMM isn't bad at all, really easy to use too. I'd just like a software that would allow me to do a bit more then I can with WMM.

Thanks Scott. I'd have to look, but haven't you put together some videos? If so which software did you use? Or maybe I'm thinking Chris.... or something.

I have done a shitload of vids and I have always used the free Windows program but it has shitty compression so no matter how good the actual footage is the end product gets grainy. The only time this did not apply with the Windows program was when my brother and I had that $2k Canon XL1s video camera. The quality of that cam was so good even the shit compression of the Windwos program would not bother it.

I have been considering some pro quality video software and another high end camera but not sure yet if I want to go that route since now everyone and their grandma has a camera and is shooting stuff at the track. No more good ole days when it was just me another guy or two down there shooting vids.. Now you have to fight for position and people in your way.

Pinacle is what I use, but it's not cheap... good features though.
