My Puppy snick has a really bad tooth infection and it has turned in to a abscessed (SP) tooth.
We have no medical insurance for her and she is getting worse day by day. I can not bare to watch her any longer in the pain i'm putting her through and really am not sure what to do. We took her to the doctor today and spent $128 just for them to tell us it will cost 1200 for the surgery.
Does anyone know of any Hospitals that maybe a little cheaper, or anything? Maybe someone knows a hospital that will do a payment plan we will even pay extra. What about the ASPCA can they do anything for me? Its so late and i feel so helpless for her.
This is her.

If you look under "her" left eye you can see its swollen. If any one has any ideas it would be a big help, I can't even think right now but to post this on a couple sites i visit.
Thanks in advance
Shaun

Check with Chris Poulin on Badrap. His wife is a Vet and he is a car guy. Tell him DrDirt sent you and I'll give him the '69 instrument cluster if he can help you out.

Sunshine animal hospital will work with you. My old doggie had a bad case of bladder stones and it was actually killing her - poor girl was in bad shape. I didn't have the money to pay all at once; I must've called 20 vets and nobody would work with me. Sunshine animal hospital let me write them a bunch of post dated checks for each month. And rather than ever let them cash the check, I came in every month and paid cash for that month's payment. Those people really love their work and love animals - if you need somewhere to take your dog, reguardless of if you need to try and work something out or not, take it there.

After searching badrap i found a post he made talking about the new hospital they opened around Nov. of last year.
Timberlane Pet Hospital And Resort (http://www.timberlanevet.com)
So i called and explained my story and she told me they don't do payments and best bet would be to give the dog away and have the ASPCA take care of her.
WTF?!
:-(
I'm sorry man, thats really shitty of them not to take payments anymore. You could try throwing the post-dated checks idea at a few of the peopel you call. I know when I called around that seemed to make people say, "Hmm, let me go ask the doctor."
It probably also helped that I was in absolute tears, crying like a little girl. I know hwo it is when everywhere says no, man. Just call every damn vet up until you've called every vet in the St. Pete/Tampa Bay area.

Hey Bro,
Did a little internet searching, found this place in clearwater, says at the bottom of the page they have some sort of payment plan, worth giving them a call:Sunset Veterinary Surgery About Us Page (http://www.sunsetvetsurgery.com/about.html)

Every place i call wants me to bring her in and charge me to look at her. i don't have time for this bullshit i just wish these fucking places didn't play these bullshit fucked up games.
Thanks again bro i just need to keep trying. oh and by the way i think i called every place yesterday. It was last night that i gave up and posted this.

I'm sure I could if i had a credit card. Every vet takes something called care credit and i can't even get approved for that. Shows how awesome my credit is.

if your dog is that bad, bring it in and have the surgery done THEN argue about payment. when if comes to that shit, you do what you have to do....

Seems like for the ifection they would need to give her antibiotics to clear up the infection before they would do the surgery.
You can always go to a tractor supply and pick up a bottle of penicilan. It's liquid form but giving a dog shots isn't a big deal. That will at least help things along.
Might sound dumb but get some people tooth ache medicine and swap the tooth that hurts with it. Doing those two things would buy you some time to figure it out.

^^ You don't even need to do shots, you can just squrit it down is mouth. I had to do the same on my boxer 3 weeks ago. Still have the meds if you need them Bro

I remember Friends of Strays in Pinellas Park (US 19 and Park) Use to have a list of vets who worked on sick or injured animals for a fair price.

So i'm on the way to the Vet. Drove about halfway there when they called and said they need to reschedule due to an emergency C-section that came in. So i turned around started driving home when Dr Dirt's friend Chris off Badrap called me said he can't do anything till Monday but is more then willing to help out in anyway that he can.
He's not sure why i had such a problem with the person on the phone this morning but told me he will take care of her. So we are giving her baby aspirin and hoping shes not in to much pain. Thanks again for all the help and advise i'm hoping she will be alright.
Thanks Again.

I would check into getting some antibiotics asap. I wouldn't wait until Monday. They would prob prescribe a pretty heavy dose just to help the current infection.

I actually have been following this thread, but I have no idea. I've never had anything come up to where I didn't have all the money up front. My dogs have been relatively healthy, knock on wood. So it's just never come up, and I wouldn't know who does and who doesn't take payments.
On that note, my Dad is also facing having to take his dog in for surgery and a dental, but he can't afford what it will cost all at once, so I'm reading this to see if I can refer him somewhere if his Vet won't work it out.
