Just a reminder that SCCA CFR-West will be hosting our Fall Gainesville autocross next Sunday, September 9th! Gainesville is always a good time. The road course always makes a fun course with fewer cones than you usually see at an autocross.

Also, the SCCA home office has raised our insurance rates, which means that our prices have gone up $5 per car. I BELIEVE That makes Gainesville $30 for members and $40 for non-members this time... Someone correct me if I'm wrong...

Unlike Brooksville you don't need to register in advance, just show up with $40 and a car that will pass tech inspection. :) We do usually get a BIG turnout for our Gainesville events, so get there early!

Look forward to seeing you all there!

This may also be the last CFR autocross in Gainesville as well.

You don't need to register for Gainesville? I am already registered, will this insure me a spot if I show up at 8:45?

There has never been a cutoff at a CFR Solo II event to my knowledge. You just need to be there before registration closes so that you can pay your entry fee, etc. If you get there after Reg closes you may still be able to play, it will just cost you more. Notice I said MAY, in all likelyhood you will be a spectator.

Suggestion, be there early.

Thanks, I'm from Lakeland so I wasn't sure how long it was going to take me to get there. I ended up getting a hotel in Gainesville so I knew I would be there on time.

I have only been to FAST events before this weekend and they usually have a cutoff of about 30 or 40.

30 or 40! Never! Cutoff's at 70 for most SPC events, 80 for Brooksville. 50-60 normally turn out.

Results are up!

Only 50 drivers, which is unusual for a Gainesville event, but we had fun. 5 runs for everyone, too.

Thanks to everyone that came and helped out!

I've never seen a '57 Chevy Autocross. It that listing correct?
I don't know if that would be a treat, or just painful.

It was a sweet ride and very, hell it looked like it came off the showroom floor of a car dealership. He made it through about 3 runs before having issues with fuel.

The 57 was not a misprint, very cool to see him out there beating on that thing. This was my first G-ville event and I had a lot of fun. It was nice to see a little speed for a change. It's definately time for me to get some real tires and start prepping my car for ESP though
