OIF/GWOT vets please look

I need to see what to expect I just Volunteered for "Theatre Operations"
I need to know what to expect what I may want to bring.
I will be attached to either an infantry or SF unit while I am there. So I'm guessing alot of field time, Going to Designated Marksman Training in Oct. @ Ft Benning. I have SRT background and have completed Level 1 Sniper training. I'm guessing when I'm not performing my MOS duties that I will be the DM. any help would be appreciated.

BTW if you find any 7.62x54R labeled 7N1 lemme know, thats the highest quality sniper ammunition designed for the dragunov, extremly rare to find stateside

It all depends on where you go. I am working with the 152 Inf and some 1-1 Marines in Al Anbar. We are part of a PTT and just deal with the IP's and their stations unless there are convoy opps. The mission in Baghdad will be different than in Fallujah.

plan on buying a new toughbook, have a sandisk MP3 player 1GB , Duce getting new rifle just authorized the Knights SR-25 M110. Was notified that I am to bring it to training..showed up in the armory a few days ago.

BTW not thinking of the ammo, working on the rifle, filled out import paperwork already, Remember I'm good at finding obscure way of working the papers. all I need is the import lic., a reciept from a local, a dealer stateside willing to accept(that you trust) and the tax paid (500) I'm already a licensed importer so they cant claim that its a war trophy.
btw the tax covers up to 100 pieces. so I'm gonna find a crate and fill it up. Duce I have you and your brother covered.

The SR-25 is my all time favorite! It makes the M-14 look like a toy. Break the barrel in right and it will out shoot ANY M-14. If you need you can order Ipods from AAFES. Not sure about only a 1 gig mp3?
Who knows, you could spend all of your time on a roof in the IZ.

freakyfast, so how long have you been in the army and whats your MOS? how long are you going to be deployed and do you know what part of IZ you are going to be at?

I am a classified MOS (MI based) dont know where yet, they will tell me during my blackout phase (they hold us for a couple days without any outside contact) been in army this time almost a year, prior 7 years. in direct comission program now.

well i have beein in the army for a lot longer than a year (no break in service) and have worked with and been apart of some of the most classified units out there. there are no classified MOS's, just classified units. when and where did you go through selection? also what was your previous MOS?
