I recently moved the battery to the back and all is working fine.i used a distribution a block for my ground wire kit also to mount the starter wire,I was thinking about a few options, 1)removing the starter wire and just grounding it to the frame of the car or mount it to the tranny, 2) cut it off altogether seeing how it has a ground wire on one of the starter bolts.would that be ok to do or does it have to be attached to the battery.
My setup for the ground is 0g from batt to dis block in engine bay and the ground kit and starter attached to the block, (0g from battery then to a 0g ring terminal bolted down to chassis with the ground wire for the amp attached, all bolted down together.)
reason for this is that i have a whine in the speakers but i can only hear when i change stations and around 3500 rpm,I just want to start eliminating some possibilities,Thinking i might have to many ground points.

It has been said that i should: Ground the battery in the back to the sub frame. Ground all audio (amps, radio, EQs, etc.) to the battery. Jump a 0 ga. ground from the block/tranny to the firewall.

Either way, ground all your audio at the battery directly and don't ground the battery at the front AND the back. One or the other.Wanting to get a second opinion on this.

the ground may or may not be able to supply enough power to start your car. theres a reason the started has a ground wire to the battery stock.

your engine while would be easier solved by running new lines to the radio, not moving the battery. Alternator whine is more often a culprit of the head unit than the amplifiers.

thanks for the info ill check the HU out and see,It would be alot easier to troubleshoot if i could just rev the car up while parked but i have to be driving to hear it.One thing what do you think about the not grounding at the front and rear of the car,why would that be bad.

you MUST ground from the battery(wherever it is) almost every electrical components in the car has an independent ground to the chassis. I wouldn't recommend removing the ground strap from the engine either.

You wont be able to charge your battery as efficiently unless the alternator is well grounded to the frame, and the frame is well grounded to the battery.

I don't see how those ground points would hurt you - ground loops usually come from poorly grounded audio components or very weak chasis grounds. if you ensure all your ground points are to sanded bare metal (including the headunit - no stock grounds!), the hum should go away.
