Default Do you consider me a squid?

So im new to the whole biking scene (ive had my sv for about a month and a half) and im still learning good technique/riding for safety. i got my msf endorsement about 4 months ago and had some prior experience. but what is the actual definition of a squid? from what i could make out its either someone who stunts or someone w/o gear...i dont stunt (i speed here and there, never going more than 10-15 over tops), and as far as gear i only have my helmet. i cant afford full gear right now, but am i a squid for only having a helmet?

having a bike and not atleast owning gear is kinda squidish but since you took the msf before getting a bike and that bike happens to be an sv and not a gixxer 1000, i'd say no...

now just don't ride stupid and kill yourself and you'll be fine.

oh and stay away from the mohawk helmet things, they scream struggling to be cool.

id just reccomend getting something to go on your chest/back and cover your arms. a mesh jacket with armor in it isnt bad at all even on the hottest days, and when youre savin up buy yourself a nice christmas present and get a nice leather jacket for when its chilly out. there ya go. oh and nice gloves too.

not a mohawk helmet fan myself, but I don't care if it's your thing.I love how when I am doing 15 mph over the limit and on i4-275 everyday some retard with no helmet/ wearing shorts and a tank top go flying 100mph+ by me to look cool
If you do this on the highway you are a retard

Ride how you want. who gives a shit if people call you a squid. I swear the sport bikers mentality is stuck in the 4th grade caring about what other people do and name calling. Who gives a fuck. Stop trying to alter the way you ride and are comfortable because you think some immature douche bag is going to call you squid. I swear you guys are worse than car guys throwing the term "ricer" around. Ride smart and ride safe dont worry about what others may think.

Squid:

A young motorcyclist who overestimates his abilities, boasts of his riding skills when in reality he has none. Squid bikes are usually decorated with chrome and various anodized bits. Rear tyres are too wide for their own good, swingarm extended. Really slow in the corners, and sudden bursts of acceleration when a straight appears. Squids wear no protection, deeming themselves invincible. This fact compounds intself with the fact that they engage in 'extreem riding'--performing wheelies and stoppies in public areas. Squids wreck alot. Derived from 'squirly kid'

example:
We were suddenly passed by a chromed out R1 and then when we rounded the bend, we saw the squid wrapped around a tree, he'd probably be alive if he was wearing a helmet.
