Will it hurt? I've heard from lots not to run thick oil in a boosted car, I'm running 10w30 synthetic now, just was wondering if 20w50 is too much for a boosted b20?

depends on how tight your clearances are...i always run a 10-30 or a straight 20w...but it rarely ever gets that cold around here that your oil would drop to a 10 weight...i personally dont see any reason to run a 50 weight unless its a really worn out motor.

Some say it will leak on a turbo. But I have worked on cars and the only way it is going to leak is if you have a leak. But a 10-30 is going to be the best for you.

20 50 is a little heavy for a street car. only downside is that you have to let the car get to operating temp before you drive it. you can potentially do some damage if you don't.

i would also check the service manual to make sure your pump can handle it.

the weight isn't as much of a problem down here in the south, but if you plan on taking it anywhere remotly cold, i would think about sticking with a 30w.

20w-50 is fine in warm climates. you definetly dont want to use it if it gets below freezing.
