Posted some additional photos and info about my mustang at the garage area today. I could only post so much info and pics but it gives you an idea how it was a year ago and how it is today as I continue to make the changes to it. I have done a little more since the last pic. I've added the window net, a jurst sidewinder shift ball with a button for the line lock, filled the lower rear quarter vent holes by welding in metal patches and installed lexan quarter windows where the upper roof vents were located like the the ones used on the 66 shelby. I'll post updated photos after these have been there a while to give everyone that cares to look at them a chance to do so and follow along on this project of mine. Now with JayVizo having a mustang also and me helping him with it, I'll have less time to work on mine but it's all good, I'm looking forward to going to the track and racing together with him. ;)

Thanks to all that replied. You guys have some nice clean rides also. I posted this to show that you can do just about anything you want to your car with basic tools. I do it all myself out of my garage. The things I don't know how to do, I take a local community college coarse get the basics and go for it. I do this cause I got tired of paying premium price for things to get done and got crappy work. After they get your money, they don't care what you think about the work. I'm not a pro at anything, just like to do a good job and pay attention to the details. Usally comes out fairly decent and if I don't like it, I have no one to blame but myself. ;) Thanks again for looking and replying. I'll post some more pics as I go along. I'm shooting to complete the project by November.

I have lots of spare parts. If any of you guys get a 67 or 68 let me know what you need. I have suspension and body parts including some fiberglass stuff (hood, trunk lid for a coupe, rear bumper) and light weight doors.

;) I'll take care of you this weekend when we get together to work on your car! Afterwards if you want, you can join Russ and I at Bradenton to test his friends 71 mustang. That's if your wife lets you. :P

I don't have any 69/70 parts but I was looking thru Racing Junk not too long ago and there was an ad for a glass nose, hood and doors for $500. That's a good deal since I just paid 2K for the same peices and a trunk lid. My source for parts is mostly e-bay. Sorry.

Thanks! It's coming along but not fast enough for me. I have a lot of spot welding to do followed by body filler to cover the welds across the quarters and pillar posts. I also have some tin work in the interior and new lexan to install. Will post pics as I go along.

The engine was a .060 over 428CJ (FE) 440 cubic inches. But I'm building a new engine which is a little smaller in cubic inches (428 standard bore) but will make a little over 100 more hp (650) on the motor. The old motor will be a back-up motor. I think this is what you were asking. If it was the times, it ran 10.40's in the quarter and 6.60's in the eigth. The new combo should run high 9's in the quarter and high 5's in the eigth. I'm converting it into a fastback at the moment and will also loose about 200lbs by installing lots of fiberglass parts. Actually, the only metal parts on the body will be the roof, quarters, rocker panels and tail light panel. I'll be posting some new photos in my garage soon of how the conversion from coupe to fastback is progressing.

very nice car man

Thanks! It'll be much nicer when I'm done with the new changes. I like the stangs in your stable also. My son just bought a 88 ssp X highway patrol unmaked coupe with a 347. We'll be working on it this weekend at my house in Lakeland. It's a strong running pony but won't outrun the big hoss! :)
