I am wanting to know if Lakeland drag way is still open? I want to come out and run my built raptor against some punk ass Banshees? Next friday night?

I know you think a 4 stroke vs. a badass 2 stroke.
Proven...... I have run my bike at run what ya brung events in deland Fl during bike week.
I got them 1/4 track and on, built Banshees, with little guys on them 120lbs against my 260+ on a 4 stroke 696cc liquid cooled stock stroke 4 stroke.
Any takers?
BTW I will bring some banshees to see what they got for ya also.

OSW does not allow 4 wheelers.
Shit that is a 1/4mile
I do not want to run that far, anyone know of any drag strips that allow 4 wheelers on pavement?

Lakeland drag strip is sold, along with the mudhole, circle track, and moto-x track. Word is it will become warehouse space :(

You might know me as cobrajet428cj here at TR also JayViso's dad. I worked at Lakeland Drag Strip as the staging coordinator and my neigbor across the street was the starter. I live about 2 miles from the track. The word I got a couple of days ago is that the deal for the drag strip, mud hole and round track is off. The track is supose to open again in Sept. sometime. However, from what i understand it will only open for test and tune on Thurs. only. That's probably for the best cause I don't think that many racers are going to go there for a race anyway. I don't think that the owner is going to make any kind of an effort to prep the track or repair the timing boards. They are always on the blink. The guys that were leasing it bought the chips required to run the boards however, from what they told me they are trying to work out a deal to sell the chips and equipment to the owner. I would love for someone to buy the track and make a decent facility out of it. We'll just have to see what happens and hope for the best.

He want's 7 million for the drag strip and the mud hole. :-o He will not sell just the drag strip. The people that were leasing it offered 5 million and he would not sell. From what I understand he bought it for less than 1 million about 20 years ago. IMO it's not worth what he wants for it. Another few million would have to be invested to make a decent track out of it to attract racers back to Lakeland Drag Strip. The owner has pissed off or run off most of the racers that have tried to support the track. He's hoping that the street crowd won't care about traction, timers or the facilities in general and come out to test and tune/grudge race so he won't have to pay out anything and it's mostly profit for him. Cheap A$$! Like I said before, the only way that Lakeland will ever become a decent track and get racers to go there again is if the track was sold and came under new ownership and the current owner had nothing to do with it. I wish I was wrong but I don't think so. :(
