Anyone in town offering this type of service? Or has anyone attempted this?

I have a teeeeeny chip in a fender, most body shops want to repaint the whole fender...blend the hood and door..yadda,yadaa.. I think it can be fixed with a small airbrush

any ideas?

platinum silver metallic - 01G
I figure the metallic might better match up sprayed instead of from a touch up bottle.

I'm not sure about your specific car manufacturer if they do this or not but Mazda supposedly sends us (MS6 owners) a free bottle of touchup paint after a few weeks of owning the vehicle for our front bumpers because the paint is pretty hard to match... and it chips a little easy with rocks hitting it.

Might want to look for something similar to this, probably an online dealer would have it.

Good luck.

True thanks i've got the touch up bottles (3 of em) and a can of platinum silver metallic oaintscratch.com can of paint also. but that can sprays way too much, and the brush is just messy :(

So I'm guessing they're just tiny little chips? Try just spraying a little onto a q-tip and rubbing it into the affected area. Make sure to clean the area with alcohol or something first, so the paint actually sticks to the material and not dirt or grime. Might want to try this first somewhere where it can't be seen (engine bay, undercarriage, some test plastic perhaps?) to see the effects before actually applying.

yup, I've touched up a lot on my car already, and repainted it last year.. the front chips I can deal with by hand but, it's one up high on the side of the fender. I have already actually repaired the chip, cleared it and 1500 -> 2000grit wetsanded it down smooth. It polished up nice but, it's not PERFECT. I want to do it again using airbrush, I don't own one (yet) so hopefully someone here might wanna step up...

there are some people that do spot repair, instead of painting the entire panel, most are mobile and go to dealerships and such, they sand the chip scratch area, and repaint that area and blend in the clear, and air brush is not generally needed either, sometimes it looks good, and sometime it looks worse, depending on the color and what not, The Ideal repair is to repaint the entire panel, and blending into the next if the repair is too close, this way the color would match, being a Silver metallic i would suggest that option, but you can always try the spot repair First. - Mike
