And these 3 are the same image in three different ways. For some reason, I really liked the soft glow. I don't usually like that for landscape type stuff.

I like 3 and 6. and if you make the b&w one more contrasty (sp?) it'd look cool too.

Hmm..okay. I never do any of that stuff, so I was just tinkering. I am usually just a crop and resize kind of gal. ;-)
Here's the b&w with more contrast:

That kind of makes the detail pop more in a b&w photo when the black is rich and the white is brillant. just my two cents.

Cool. Thanks. Like I said, I've never done it before, so I have no idea what I'm doing. :P

it seems like just woods to me. its ok i guess, maybe if you work on it, or find a better angle or try buildings or something next time for better judgement.

The black and white one is good, but to make it better, make a new layer (If youre using Photoshop) and color in the white parts with a white brush. Yes it sounds weird, but what you do after that is put a white outer glow on that layer, make it look like gods ray of light sorta deal... if you understand that.
If not, I can give you an example... otherwise, the photos are actually brilliant in themselves.

What are you using then?! Paint and doing pixel by pixel?
The black and whites are pretty good without using Photoshop. Reason I asked is because it looks like you just went into photoshop and went to Edit > Adjustments > Desaturate... turns a photo to all black and white, thats why I assumed. =]
No harm no foul..

It's a program that came with my HP all-in-one printer. I can tell it to convert to black and white in one click. I can do sepia, soft glow, antique, polarized.
To resize, I crop (didn't crop those at all) then lower the pixels. I usually pick a round number like 800-1000 for the bigger dimension.
It's actually a really easy program for basic edits. Has a red eye thing, too.

Maybe see if there's a download from the HP website. This is the second version I've had of it..I keep buying HP printers, and they keep having photo editing programs!
