Registration is closed
This event has been postponed till April 2008. We will be working with the venue to lower costs and make this a public event. Thank you to all the drivers who signed up, as well an apology that this did not happen. We just didn't get enough drivers to cover venue cost. All registered drivers will be getting a refund within 24 hours.

I'll register only if the 240 doesn't get sold by Sept.
F**k drifting, I'm autoxing this course...well with a few slides on a few corners.

This event is about having fun with the machines that we are passionate about.
That's what drifting/autoxing/drag/rally/etc. is suppose to be.
I'm tired of hearing criticisms from ppl who sit along the sideline.

Special request: Please barricade those light poles with tires or sleeping pillows. They can do lots of damage to soda cans going 40-60 mph.

No food or drinks? I hope there is someone selling then.

Its the same policy that movie theaters have too.
There should be refreshments and snacks for sale BY a Trops vendor.
It's just simple business. Yeah, i hate it too.

Idea from SunRiders events @ SPC campus: Registration and pit crew fees include a few dollars more to cover pizzas and drinks at noon time.

There is a lot more to the course than a bunch of S turns. JC and I mapped it out and gave it some nice flavor.

It's a private event because it's for practice and it's the first run of a venue.

Photographers will need to comply with media requirements, but are not a problem as long as photos and video are going to be published somewhere and not just left to ferment on memory cards or hard drives.

OMG IT'S A COP
07-29-2007, 02:07 AM

this is it. for all the people claiming they "drift" lets see it on the track. Save your possible traffic citations and come out. it's FINALLY local AGAIN, you have ATLEAST one month to save 120 dollars for this. You claim to be drifters, well prove it and come to the event. if you suck or if u dont suck it doesn't matter. come out and stop internet posing with the word drift!!!!!

tires are cheap, go get some used ones at the used tire places. alot of us aren't trying to be pro at this anyway so who cares what brand tire or what compound etc etc. just come out.

get registered for this shit. if you live in clearwater\st pete area\largo. wherever 727 or 813 this is like mandatory for all you "drifters" just come out. save some cash. sacrifice a little. see how much work u really need to improve on with your driving skills. the little 90 degree street turns aren't so easy when you get on the course lay out.

so get registered. there will be plenty of media to take pics of mid drift slides that u can use for all your new signatures even if u spin out in the end. so it's worth it. lmao

i gotta go tire hunting for some steelie burners !

i dont know if you guys use this place already but theres a tire shop called Do Danh tires on Haynes Rd, North of 54th that changes tires for like 10 a wheel, but make sure you put the wheel on the car yourself, cause he uses a impact air-tool-gun, that little basterd torques the ish out of em, messed up my friends wheels, i got mad love for him tho, cause i call him when hes closing and stuff and he keeps it open for me ;)

Important Update:
We will be closing registration for this event on August 15th. We need 30 more drivers paid and registered by then for this event to happen. If we do not have enough drivers by the 15th registered, we will have to postpone this event till April or May of 2008. In the case that we do not have 30 more drivers registered by August 15th and we postpone the event, we will give refunds to drivers already registered.

I was hoping registration will end on Aug. 31st, so i would know for sure that no one will buy my 240.

Possible drivers need to consider the cost of hotels, traveling time, and fuel when other events are held in other tracks. So this event is a good deal. The worse is to have your track car broken down hours away from home, which may require the cost of having it towed back home, and we all know towing isnt cheap.
This one is local. Only a short drive for most peeps. Please come out, its a absolutly great chance to put your creation and skill to works. Or to improve it.

JC, I wouldn't limit this event to drifting only. Autoxing is perfect for this event also. If you need those 30 drivers, possibility you can spread the word about this event to other non-drifters on TR.
JC, do what you got to do. I'll see if I can bring out the Porcshe if the 240 gets sold.

To be honest, with attitudes like that. I can see what people don't want to go. Spectators are annoying, sure... but cocky fucks who think they are Über and talk shit to everyone are even more annoying. I can ignore some 15y/o fucker in the stands alot easier than an arrogant prick in the pits.

Nothing personal... just if you want people to come... don't insult them because they are hesitant to commit.

Seriously, can we get back on topic. This event most likely will not happen. I don see 20+ registering in 1 day. We will give refunds to everyone the day after registration closes. The event will be POSTPONED, meaning it will happen, just at a later date. Why? Because we are reworking things to try to make it public and less money. We appreciate all the comments good and bad as we take something for everyones opinion. This is not an end. I want that to be clear, I personally have, and people I have worked with as well, worked to hard to give up. We are talking with other local venues and all I can say at this time is that there may be an event (less and public) at another venue before the Trop. As always, DriftBasic.com members hear it first.

all of you are fucking gay, point is if your gonna drift the event register if not dont, you dont have to show up and drift the event just to be a drifter, you can consider yourself a "drifter" if you atleast go out and practice and progress, other then that having a pretty car that has cool shit but no skill or consistant's to put the damn vechicle to what your soppossibly building it for is just a waste of time and money only ways thats ok is if you like the car and dont talk about drifting all the time. other then that everyone needs to calm down, all you need to do is convince some people you know to raise the money and enter to have fun, theres no competition just go have fun not getting introuble get tips meet some cool people or some assholes and then get home and talk shit on tr

bottom line puma's rule and tr needs to keep shit talkers to a minimum

so im not tryin to be tough, but y do you care so much about other people, a lot of people go drifting that dont have enough money to go to this event.

and im sorry to break your guys' hearts but a lot of people go driving/drifting on the streets.

the "time to walk" i guess, to me is monday nights when there arnt a lot of people on the road, and less cops, not when someone decides to put together an event and charge 120 for it(as tight as this event is, and i know you dont control the price) and a lot of random ass people start to say people should step up.? i guess you wanna be famouse and do as many event as possible? im like a girl and just wanna have fun.

99% of the time street drifting doesn't even compare to event drifting, but you don't realize that until you go to a decent event. I think $120 is pretty steep, but I'm willing to pay that to make this event happen. It's not just about this event either, because by showing support and registering for this event, you're also investing in future events in the area.
You don't have to drive events to be a "drifter", but as a drifter shouldn't you want to drive events?
It just seems lame whenever there's an event thread and almost all of the replies are excuses of why people can't go.
Whatever, I'm still going to Moroso.
