Use SimpleGreen to clean all the greese and stuff in the engine bay, then just wash it down

Yes, use Krylon Rust Tough spray paint. You can also use the Krylon Interior/Exterior paint, but the Rust Tough is better and more durable.

I used Semi-Flat, but you can use flat or Semi flat, up to you. Anything with a gloss is never going to sit flat and its going to LOOK like a rattle can job. If you use Krylon and do it with a flat or Semi-Flat color it'll look like a real paintjob.

I painted my entire engine bay, denferwells, and the front fram of my car with the Krylon semi-flat. It looks perfect. It lays down so flat and dries perfectly. Just make sure to buy a LOT of cans and coat the shit out of it.

And again, I can't stress it enough: Use Krylon. I've painted more than I care to talk about with rattle cans and Krylon is the best. Its worth the little bit extra you pay for each can.
