O.k. so here's the deal, I have a 1982 gpz 550, and i need parts, a spare engine would be nice. So if anyone has one of these bad boys laying around it would be nice, mine is running pretty good. But ive combed junkyards withing a 150 mile radius, and these gpz's are pretty rare, so if you know of someone who has some gpz parts or if you do, give me a holla. I've got cash!

I'm probably the only guy here old enough to remember GPZs.:(
The bike that you have, and the Yamaha Seca 550 were my HS dream bikes back in the early 80s. In fact, I'm currently looking for a clean example of either one.
Love to see some pics.
Google "GPZ 550 forums" and you'll find a couple boards that you'll need to sign up for. That's your best bet. If that doesen't work, you can always try ebay.

thanks, i just resurected this thing, the guy left it in his backyard for 15 years. He had theses racing cams in it, and he didnt shim bucklets right and broke the cam holddowns and broke some bolts in the head. the bike is rough nothing worked but now its running, and boy does it run, im suprised by how quick this little thng is. i had to redo most of the brakes because both master cyclinders were siezed. But i will post some pictures, right now she's uglier than sin, but in a few months she will be like new.

i had one.. but i gave it to a shop to put in my bike.. but they didnt. and i didnt get it back... i just went with a dyna unit $120 and its done forever.. haha.. (took my bike to one shop for the shims and timing. $200+ bucks an a month later my bike still wasnt running.. learned dont take it to a shop..)
i got like 2-3 sets of 1000 carbs, a set of z1 carbs, and a of 99 zx6r carbs(fit in the boots but the way the bowls are angled sum say it wont work(gotta try them again now i that i know why my bike didnt run)

those things wheelied so phucking easy man. Guy I rode with actually got pulled over by a helicopter cuz when he got spot lighted by it he picked it up and shined his light back at him. Helo landed in the parking lot where he parked at. Never laughed so long in my life when he asked the cop who was being safer him or the yahoo landing a helo in a shopping mall parking lot. :-o

You're looking for parts so this is considered something that would go in the bike-sale section. Moving it there for you.
